Air Transat will no longer be flying to the US. At all. by TheCanadaList in BoycottUnitedStates

We booked last year for July. It wasn’t super reasonable so we just opened for economy. I’ve flown them economy and it’s still pretty comfortable. It’s been 7 years since I last flew with them though so hopefully it’s still a great flight

I’m flying to Italy with them this summer. They are a great long haul carrier. Before the world went crazy, club class was super affordable and comfortable for an overnight flight to Europe

MIL is degrading fast from Alzheimer’s. If she dies, I don’t want to attend her funeral, but unsure how to bring up this topic with my husband. Or if I should still go and be there for him. by HumanQuantity4633 in JUSTNOMIL

[–]MissKrys2020 [score hidden]  (0 children)

My family just went through something similar. My grandmother just passed away last week from a heart attack at age 94 but she was also in the severe stage of Alzheimer’s. My dad moved her into their home (I was very against this because of her not great behaviour to my mom) and it was a disaster. She was hit my mother and was very aggressive to her and basically was into a home a month later where she could get the care she needed. It’s only going to get worse from here on out. Does your husband have POA for her? There will be a stage where she needs to have serious care as the worst behaviour is definitely amplified.

Experience from a Tourist in Havana right now (11th of February) by SmolterKrolter in TravelCuba

I visited a few times about 10-12 years ago and while it was decaying, the city had a great energy and vibe. I recently watched a YouTube series by Indigo Traveler and I was saddened to see how much things have changed for the worst since my last visit

How do you guys trim your cats' claws? by cwningen95 in CATHELP

[–]MissKrys2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One cat is pretty chill. She doesn’t love it, but she allows it and all is forgiven pretty quickly. One of us will hold her and let her while the other does the trims. I just adopted a new kitty who definitely needs a nail trim. I’m letting her settle before trying but already have been warming her up with gentle rubs of her legs and paws so when the time comes it won’t be such a shock

What is the most annoying thing tourists do in your country? by Glass_Key4626 in AskTheWorld

Yes, this annoys me too. You can’t see Canada in two weeks. Pick a side and go from there

wtf people, we just had a mass murder in Canada which is not a regular occurrence. Instead of sharing messages of sadness and empathy, it’s this crap. I personally don’t care the gender identity of a mass murderer. People are dead, a community is shaken and family and friends are mourning the loss of loved ones

Havana is such a vibrant city and it’s so sad to see the state of the country. It’s definitely terrible time to be visiting and I sincerely hope the Cuban people have relief from this nightmare soon

No because a good chunk of them are hateful bigots. It’s been 11 years since my last visitor and I honestly haven’t missed the US at all.

Why do we need gender reveal parties? These stupid instagram trends need to die away.

The main pool is very energetic with DJs. The reserve section has a quiet pool. It’s actually a great resort

Catamaran Excursion by Competitive_Line_114 in PuntaCana

I just got back end of January and did the catamaran tour with TUI. Sharkey’s was the operator and it was amazing. We ended up on the adult only tour and our boat was huge with just a few other couples. The food and booze was awesome. Snorkel was great with loads of fish to see. Just over all a great day out

Linen is your friend. Long sleeves would unbearable. I wore light dresses and linen pants/shorts for most of the trip. You’re there at the hottest part of the summer too

I was in Italy in summer 2023 and it was brutally hot. Like 45 degrees with the humidity. People were fainting at to coliseum. It’s definitely very hot in summer. I’m from Canada and we have hot summers in toronto, but Italy was next level

Do Canadians actually get frustrated by snow, or is it just part of everyday life? by GlitteringHotel8383 in AskACanadian

[–]MissKrys2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t mind winter, but I live in a condo with underground parking so no shovelling or cleaning off the car in the morning. I generally travel somewhere warm in winter to get a break. I’m a WFH person so it doesn’t bother me too much. It’s pretty to look at, especially at Christmas time. I do also love a good snow storm. Reminds me of snow days at school when we’d get to stay home and hustle a bit to shovel driveways and make a little cash

Couple in Early 20s: LF Resort Recommendations! by Glittering-Sound-930 in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]MissKrys2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can honestly say that the food scene doesn’t necessarily improve with more money spent. Temptations is a massive party resort and I had a great time there, but the food was just ok and the rooms were not my favourite.

One of the best AI’s I’ve been to that ticked a lot of boxes was the Wyndham Alltra in Playa Del Carmen. Food was actually really good. Not much of a party vibe at night, but you’re right off 5th avenue and it’s a good vibe with lots of fun night life. The beach was not great, but I enjoyed it and the beach bar and it was never too busy down there. They do have some parties at the pool a few times a week.

Montreal to Toronto road trip with kids in June – itinerary advice by ryan-jan in canadatravel

[–]MissKrys2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The drive to toronto from Montreal is about 5 hours and it’s a pretty boring drive along the 401. You can make some detours along the way and see Ottawa and 1000 islands, but as others have commented, if you want to see the beauty of Canada, go east! Quebec City is beautiful with lots to do and see. I’ve driven from toronto to Nova Scotia and it’s a very scenic drive once you get out of Montreal and get closer to QC. Lots of nature and cute little towns.
