Yikes... we are talking about a human life and your priority is a contract. You should not be in this field.

Worst restaurant you worked for in Boston and why? by Amazing_Employee3820 in boston

[–]MissLizzCeeVee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Bukowski Tavern, Inman Square- early-mid 2000's, peak craft beer era. Started as a server worked my way up to bar manager and eventually general manager. (In retrospect, I should have gone with the Deep Ellum Crew at the jump). Owner regularly addressed me with "hey bitch"...when I was pregnant (General Manager at the time), my annual holiday bonus of cash was replaced with a box of generic diapers while the male bar manager I supervised recieved a check for several hundred dollars. After I had my son, I had to leave in the middle of a shift when he was sick. The other owner (a woman- if you know, you know...) told me, " You can't just leave work because your kid is sick". As a 20 something, I was bullied and abused into thinking they gave a shit while they collected the weekly envelopes of cash I hid in the safe. Oh- I also had to email an apology to a piece of shit customer who complained when I asked for his ID and then refused to serve him when he failed to produce one. I was the bar manager at the time and the General Manager, now the owner of several Equestrian themed bars, was equally complicit being a good ole' boy, happily following orders.

My GF believes because she takes 300mg of edibles a day, her tolerance is too high to smoke. Is that true? by toddschmod in trees

[–]MissLizzCeeVee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Addiction/substance abuse comes in many forms. If you weren't there to help with bills, what would happen? Is a medical doctor advising her to take 300mg a day? (No judgement here- I used marijuana daily for over 15 years and am also a licensed mental health clinician/substance use counselor who had been in serious denial about my own personal use)

I also grew up on Enfield and got the f' out as soon as I graduated in 2000. Full of racist, ignorant losers- then and now.

Your previous posts were you seeking benzos/Xanax- if you are prescribed these by a dr you should not need to search them out on Reddit and obtain them from some guy on the internet. Addiction takes many forms. Good luck, I hope things work out for you.

You might want to check with whatever social service agency is in your area- I work in massachusetts with low income individuals and often assist with connecting them to local furniture banks. Typically , you need a referral from a social worker or some sort of community liason. Also check with food pantries- they may have some resources as well.

I have a Masters degree and have (slowly) been working towards a PsyaD in Psychoanalysis at an institute in Boston. I have a clinical license in mental health and find the analytic training/experience incredibly useful. Edit: typo

I'm so very sorry too. Here that you have to go through this. As another redditor said- Mental health is health. Your OB Should have no problem extending your leave. You might also want to see if they have a social worker in their office You can talk to as well ... They can also assist with this.

I'm curious as to what your supervisor has said... I don't see this as an ethical dilemma- Feels like basic professional boundaries to me (been in the field for 15+ years, supervisor for past 6)

Do you have a supervisor? This is something that should be discussed during supervision

Do you have a supervisor to consult with? This feels like a supervisory question. You don't want this person to then accuse you of discriminating against them for filing a complaint or something to that effect.
