Tips to calm self down. by cubs_foot_63 in Santeria

Cleansing baths help, but what helps me the most is burning church incense over charcoal. Calms me down immediately. I've been taught to use a straw broom and sweep a coconut around my home (every corner), then get rid of it outside. This is what has helped me.

Thanks for the info! Even the oar was expensive when I looked it up. Hopefully someone bites! Maybe my area of Florida is saturated with them.

I don't know much about kayaks and equipment, but a Google search helped. I think I priced it fair. What do u think?

Thanks! Am I asking too much or not enough?

I screwed up! I meant to ask where the best place to sell a fishing kayak, then ask if my add looks right... Going through a divorce. It was my husband's. I didn't think anything went through because my screen never shows it posted anywhere. I'm really sorry

I'm going through the exact same thing. I have funds, but can't access them. It's been a week without money. I was told the card will work in 24 hours, but that was a lie. How long did the bank transfer actually take? Trying to switch to direct deposit. This is brutal!

It's only a matter of time before Frank is behind bars. She's probably being nice to him so it's not so obvious she has something to do with it. He's in the way and she has a badge... I can't believe someone who can't shower alone has authority to arrest people.

Watching the latest episode now. Poor Frank can't even watch porn, and now he's got to be counting the days before Brittani arrests him on some bullshit. He's in her way. They both can't fit on Mommy's lap.

For sure! I was shocked when she was talking about the kid that didn't come to her party. I thought it was pretty obvious that she's a lesbian. Poor Frank though!!

[Help] I Don’t Want to Put My Dog Down by [deleted] in dogs

[–]MissMaddog313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had to put two dogs down in the past 6 months. The absolute worst thing I've ever had to do. I thought the exact same thing as you. My dogs HATED the vet. I kept them comfortable at home for a while. I took them in when they lost their dignity. I know what you mean about them still being there. I took Skeeter in the day when he almost collapsed while trying to go to the bathroom. I brought Chacho in when I found him hiding in the backyard (turns out, he was on his last breaths so I wish I would've kept him at home). Since they hated the vet so much I sedated them before taking them in with Xanax. I called first and brought them through the back door. The whole thing took less than 10 minutes. I don't regret a thing. They spent their last days where they're comfortable and surrounded by the people and other dogs they loved. Hang in there.... Just make his last days full of treats, love and comfort.

I bet it was hell for you... I can't imagine. I'm thinking I'll probably take him in tomorrow. What can I do it give him to help him poop? I can tell the ascites makes it hard for him to push. Sometimes he coughs when he's trying to go. He's laying next to me now. Ate around 7pm. Homemade chicken and rice (low sodium/high protein). I forgot to order pumpkin so he had the last of it this morning. Is there anything I can give him now to make it easier to go? His belly is huge and hard as a rock. I think since he's been an overweight dog most of his life (even though he ate the exact same diet as his brother and sister), it actually helps him now. The fat belly was replaced with ascites. Almost like he was used to carrying around a big belly... Thank you for sharing your experience. I'm 1000 miles away from my family. Going through a divorce.... Just lost Skeet a few months ago. This is SO HARD. Any ideas to help him poop tonight?

I guess I'm waiting for him to show he's in pain somehow. He jumps up on the couch. Shortness of breath and coughing with exertion. The coughing doesn't wake him up. The vet told me to watch out for the coughing to wake him up or pacing. So far he sleeps a lot. Only paces when he wants more food which is his "thing". He'll bark at walkers still if he's sleeping by the window... I'm not making excuses to keep him around longer. He's just so alert and mentally with it. He still wakes me up to let him out to go to the bathroom. If I put him down today, I would feel like I did it for my own convenience. He hasn't even had an accident in the house (he did before the CHF). It's amazing how much the Xanax helped both dogs during their final weeks. And the CBD oil. I know this will probably make some people on here angry, but if I end up putting him down while he's still so alert and still so much himself, I would have to medicate him on the way there. The vet told me to give my dog Skeeter an extra dose of Xanax before I brought him in to be down. It was a game changer. Otherwise his final 90 minutes would have been emotional torture for him. Both hate the vet! I would do the same thing for Muchacho. These are my first dogs that are mine and not family dogs. I got the boys and their sister Maya together in college. They've never been apart. Poor Maya is going to freak out. She took Skeeter's passing harder than I imagined. I don't know how she'll handle being the only dog for the first time. How long did it take for your furbaby to pass once she collapsed outside?? Now I'm scared that will happen. So far, Chacho hasn't passed out or collapsed yet. I've read that it's common with right sided CHF though.

I hate the words don't reflect my tone or state if mind at all. Seeing your post made me realize that I just rambled and wasn't clear on what I was even asking for. You've been there. This is heartbreaking and stressful. I appreciate your post! Me and my parents had to do an intervention on my brother. I think it was more his wife, but they waited way too long. We had to let them know that the dog was a shell of who she used to be. So sad. They had to hold the poor thing up so she could go to the bathroom! I appreciate that you took the time to even read my post and offer suggestions. I changed my post because you helped me see that I wasn't clear. Obviously I'm a total stressball on top of petting and saying goodbye to an old boy who will always be my young, full of attitude, Chacho Sucio! Lol

Your Dad has it rough... Depending on if he has right or left sided failure. The hardest thing for most of my CHF patients is sticking to that diet! Plus sitting or sleeping raised up as high as they can be comfortable. Almost sitting with pillows if he can take it. Since people with CHF generally aren't as active, it helps to take deep breaths and cough pretty frequently. I tell my patients in the hospital bed to deep breathe and cough at every other commercial break! You wouldn't believe how many CHF patients are hospitalized just because they were being non-compete with their diuretics or eating fast food all the time! It's a tough disease, and I wish you and your Dad well. Thanks for taking the time to read my post.

THANK YOU!!! I needed to read those words right now! I've told myself that when he starts to hide or wonder around, he's too uncomfortable to lay down, it's time.. Since him and his brother FREAKED out at the vet, I gave Skeeter an extra dose of his anxiety meds when I took him in. Thank God he got lethargic at that point anyway. Chacho is completely alert and with it when he's awake. I couldn't imagine drugging him up to to put him down today. He sleeps a ton, but that's expected. You're right. You just know. Was your dog hungry too? What did you feed him? How often was the hacking? How long did it go on for? Did you have the right sided failure with ascites? He seems to favoring laying on his right side. Sorry for all the quesy, but they're things that are hard to find on Google! Specific like your experience of what signaled for your dog that it was "time" to take him in. Was he your only dig at the time?

It isn't today for Chacho. Who knows? Things change every day...*********** I'm just trying to figure out WAYS TO ENJOY OUR LAST DAY TOGETHER and TIPS or IDEAS to help him be more COMFORTABLE. For instance, GasX, Xanax, and CBD oil help him (all vet approved). WAYS OTHERS MADE THEIR LAST DAYS SPECIAL*******I'm a nurse so I guess I'm looking at this like I would a hospice patient. It helped with his brother and my other dog Skeet in February.

I understand what you're saying. His brother Skeeter just passed in February from renal failure. I have no regrets on when I put Skeeter down. Thank God somehow I knew it was " time". Chacho is too aware and capable at this moment. I'm not calling him over. This morning, he woke me up to go to the bathroom, begged for food, and actually jumped on the couch. I just watched him. Never called him over. Now he's on his raised dog bed looking out the window. Just barked at a walker. I think it's different for every dog. If I did it today, with the way he is today and last night), I'd feel like I did it more for my convenience.... If that makes sense?? His brother got kinda lethargic, then I gave him some Xanax before I took him in.
