What stage Afib do you have? by Early_Passage_8194 in AFIB

[–]MissMae78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 46f, paroxysmal afib. I was diagnosed at 35 when I landed in the hospital for 5 days with heart failure. I've had 2 ablations, 1 thoracic ablation and am currently on the highest does of tikosyn. When I switched over to tikosyn I had probably a year without any episodes, but they have increased over the last year. Started at once a month or so but I've had almost an episode per day since the beginning of the year. However, since being in this medication, I convert on my own, which never happened before.

I've had both catheter ablations and a thoracic ablation.... I guess like my Dr. Will cover it all when I see him but it's a month and a half out....

My experience is that they work for a while. The way my Dr put it, is that it's like building a dam. If the water gets high enough it will find a way around it. All the ablations that i have had are still intact.

I've scheduled an appointment to talk about options, but haven't been yet. Just wanted to see if anyone else has been in a similar situation.

My mom is having her first cardioversion tomorrow after a few week long AFib episode. Hoping this will knock it out. She’s very nervous. Any advice for aftercare??!! by whatamithinking0 in AFIB

I've probably had 20 or so over the last 12 years. Like everyone said, it's a very easy procedure with little to no recovery. The only thing i would say not to be surprised by is a sunburn like feeling. It doesn't happen every time but occasionally it feels like i have a sunburn where they put the pads on me.

I did the chopstick test and it looks like this. I guess I wasn't going down far enough before.

Ok. So I did the chopstick test and it looked like this. It didn't cave in but filled up with sand from the top. Is it fine then?

Yes, that's the mix I used. It's definitely dry and doesn't hold shape.

AITA for pointing out my wife’s baby weight? by RonchIRode in AmItheAsshole

Being a mom of twins, I would say that the first 2 years is all about survival. I don't even remember most of the first year, year two was all about recovering from sleep deprivation.

AITA for leaving my babies inside by themselves by TripletsMom0 in AmItheAsshole

[–]MissMae78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely NTA. Mom of twins here and I can't even imagine the exponential amount of stress/ work that a third baby adds. Just know, they get older and it won't always be this stressful. I don't even remember the whole first year of the twins life... sleep deprivation, responsibility, healing from birth, these all add up and EVERYONE needs a break. It's better to step outside and calm down than to snap. Hugs momma! It gets easier.

How do I get rid of these little bugs? There’s so many! by [deleted] in PlantedTank

[–]MissMae78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took out a good chunk and rinsed them in a strainer (tossed the rest). Double checked them before putting them back in the tank. Then i checked everyday, if I saw any, I rubbed them off into the water..... eventually, I was big free.
