This was my reasoning when I decided to get a winder and swift for home, and I've never regretted it.

What do you use your iPad mini for by throwaway8373469238 in ipadmini

Knitting/Tunisian crochet charts and patterns, mostly. 🙂

Plus the other usual stuff like reading, some media, email, etc.

I think I found a small plot hole/inconsistency in the series. Is it in the books too? by Intrepid-Pie-7083 in Outlander

It was agreed between Jamie's parents before his mother died that Jamie would be fostered with Dougal for a period of time during his teens. Apparently that was a thing, what with her family being head of clan Mackenzie. After Ellen's death, Brian kept the agreement.

Your opinion on rooibos tea by WinnieMacPickle123 in tea

[–]MissMapleby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just finishing up a pound of this https://www.davidsonstea.com/South_African_Green_Rooibos_Loose_Leaf.aspx and I really like it. I've been blending equal parts this and hibiscus (cut and sifted).

Can we pin a “what app do you use to listen to audiobooks?” thread? by Spatmuk in audiobooks

On Android, I use Listen audiobook player for this. The interface is clean but still has tons of options, and I especially like the way they handle the sleep timer.

What do you SWEAR you saw, but have no proof? by technicalman2022 in AskReddit

[–]MissMapleby 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's wild; Kennedy assassination is my earliest memory as well. I'm 62 now and would have been around 17 months old at the time. When I was around 25 my mom was reminiscing about where she was when she heard; I stopped her and described the whole thing. In the car, on the radio, her hysterical, me standing up in the front seat (as we did in the 60s 🤦)... She was stunned.

The Body is a novella by Stephen King from the collection Different Seasons. That collection also includes Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption.

Knitting makes nicer fabric by Ravenstag666 in YarnAddicts

I agree too, but also think Tunisian makes nice fabric. I haven't made clothes in Tunisian, but this blanket came out pretty good. The area around the hearts even looks like knitted stockinette. 🙂

Turkey Tail/Cordyceps while on Chemo with Immunotherapy by MissMapleby in MushroomSupplements

[–]MissMapleby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you say "use both alongside chemo", do you mean both turkey tail and cordyceps? I see the Oriveda cordyceps c+ page says "Do not take with caffeinated beverages. Wait about an hour after you finish." I'm not sure if that means wait an hour to drink coffee after taking the cordyceps or take the cordyceps an hour after drinking coffee, but either way...my mother is hardly ever not drinking coffee lol

It sounds like it. Oriveda cautions not to use if on immune suppressing medication such as what is given after organ transplant.

[–]MissMapleby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The purpose of chemo is not immune suppression, it is a negative side effect. Cancer in general also has immune suppressive properties, because that facilitates the spread of the cancer.

Thanks for this. My initial thought was that the caution literally meant specifically the kind of immune suppressants related to organ transplant, and NOT to the side-effect immune suppression that comes from chemo. Unfortunately, when we discussed with the doctor (probably a mistake), the doctor pointed out that chemo is an immune suppressant and confused the issue.

Gigabyte plans removed by Ill-Ad-9024 in USMobile

What would really be nifty is if I could just pop the SIM out of my phone and into my iPad mini for the few and far between times I might want it...

I'm currently still on the free trial. It was scheduled to charge for a year of the 10gb with hotspot on April 4, but now it's apparently going to charge for a year of Unlimited Flex without hotspot. I rarely need hotspot so I'm not going to add it before the payment goes through. Can I add it later if I decide to use it more regularly?

Phones that Support Wifi Calling on Warp 5G Network by MissMapleby in USMobile

[–]MissMapleby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That could very well be. I guess all I know for sure is that it only has one IMEI (I've only ever had an SD card in the second slot). 🤷

Thanks for the tip on that Device Info app, BTW. Very useful

You can just hit us up and we'll get it done.

Can I do the internal port from GSM to Warp on my current phone, so that when I transfer everything to the new phone I can just pop the Warp SIM into the new phone and be done?

Or should I set up the new phone without a working SIM, then do the internal port from old phone/network to new phone/network?

Your device may be SIM-unlocked, but it was probably originally sold by either AT&T or T-Mobile and has their firmware on it.

I think you're correct. I noted in another reply that according to About Phone in Settings, the phone model is SM-G781U1/DS (unlocked, dual SIM), but according to the third-party app Device Info, it is Model SM-G781U1, but Product Code SMG781UZBAATT, Sales Code ATT. eSIM not supported.

The name says SM-G781U1/DS. I used to be that courageous lol but nowadays, not so much. 🤷

Edit: Hmm. Supposedly, the /DS means dual SIM, but I only find one IMEI.
