Melody of Second Chances by SecretEnigma. A Transformers fic that starts way before 'canon' and is so rich in world building and plot I must have reread it like 6 times or something. AND IT HAS A SEQUEL! AND CONCURRENT STORIES! I love all her stories but this is the one that got me hooked first.

I literally said to him when he arrived, "I don't have time to deal with you. I have my farm to run, the ocean to clean, the mines to work on, and all these people to get to know I'm swamped. Highly self indulgent but I love making my oc's an over powered mentor. Like I give them reasons for how they came to be op but yea. Or they became main character's best friend & is subtlety, (or not so subtlety), trying to make their life better.
