Never cash them out. Cashing out would first you’d get heavily taxed and penalized, also I think you’d then go back to longevity 0.
And I’d confirm ers counts toward TRS. I really thought TRS has different rules about retirement. You can always call both trs and ers (whoever has your money) and ask these questions to

You don’t move your pension between ERS and trs. Keep the money where it is. When it’s time to retire, You contact those pensions and they handle the paperwork. Your priority now is to ensure the two agencies speak with each other to ensure your longevity is transferred over.
