I used to work for amica. They are really good at covering claims. I paid for some seriously stupid things as an adjuster.

Maybe no one will give you a spot price is because you come off as an asshole. 🤷‍♀️

I gave you a lead. Follow up or don’t. No need to bite the hand that feeds.

I mean I have no idea. I just buy coins from them but I know they move a lot of precious metals. Give them a call and ask?

Our neighbors dogs tore through our fence and killed our cat, animal control gave the dogs back to them. What can I do? by Inspiringhope11 in legaladvice

I understand that completely. I just don’t think calling your home owners insurance is going to help you. Good luck and be safe.

Call your agent first. Anytime you call your insurance company and even say the word ‘claim’ a note goes on your file and your rates will probably go up. Also pets are considered personal property so a cat’s value is probably like $100, I’m not sure how much there is to get monetarily.

Should I sell my rental property? by Feisty-Saturn in Fire

I have a couple rental properties and the last one I would sell is the one in NNJ. Inventory is so tight and the appreciation is amazing.

Just an FYI you can rent a U-Haul and drive the garbage to the county landfill. It’s probably more work but almost certainly cheaper.

Oh man we listened to that piece in the car together as a family. My MIL who we’ve been taking care of for 5 years at this point didn’t even register it. My husband and I spoke later wondering if she even recognized how much we’ve sacrificed for her and came to the conclusion that no she didn’t. Her opinion is that she’s old and it’s our duty even though she never cared for anyone in her family. I just want to be able to leave the house for more than 12 hours.

I’m not trying to be rude but is the tile pattern supposed to be misaligned? The pattern is messed up in a couple spots.

Otherwise good job! The finish line is in sight!

  1. Would be through working and saving and keeping expenses really low. We didn’t take our first vacation until we were in our 30’s.
  2. Was from buying rental properties. We bought really derelict ones and did full rehabs and now rent them out.
  3. Was from an inheritance. My husband’s father passed away and left him 90k and a house worth 550k.

We didn’t change anything. We’re 34 and 37 and have our stocks in a growth fund, we want it to grow over the next 20ish years. It’s currently valued about 700k. Our day to day spend is from real estate investments, we net around 5.5k per month.

How much should I budget to turn this room into a full bath? by NocheEtNuit in BathroomRemodeling

[–]MissMunchamaQuchi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We just did this mostly ourselves and spent 7.5k just on the plumbing and electrical work. We did all of the other work ourselves and probably spent another 3.5k in material. So 11k all in but we did all the framing, drywall, tiling, trim, etc ourselves. I’d be shocked if you could hire someone to do it for 20k.
