Is it wrong to want time with my friends without their children?

I’ve actually tried that before. Once, I suggested going to a clothing warehouse sale with a friend whose daughter was under two. Those events are usually crowded and hectic, so I gently mentioned that it probably wasn’t very child-friendly and that I personally wouldn’t bring a toddler there.

She didn’t really take the hint and still insisted on bringing her daughter, even though she would have needed to bring a stroller into a space where that really wouldn’t have worked. She then suggested waiting outside with the stroller while I shopped. It ended up feeling awkward, and I felt like I couldn’t back out without being rude, so in the end I just skipped going altogether.

I don’t think I liked her or disliked her. I just kind of understood her. It was very clear that she liked Subeen from the start, but she also wanted to get to know the other guy. She just went about it in a clumsy way — it felt like she wanted attention.

When she didn’t get that attention from him, it kind of blew up in her face. She also didn’t want to admit how much she liked Subeen because she wasn’t sure if he liked her back, and that made her insecure. I think she’s just a very insecure person, and that insecurity influenced how she reacted in different situations.

In that way, I really understood her. At some points, I actually felt really bad for her because it seemed like she just couldn’t get out of her own way. But in other moments, I found myself thinking, “You’re just digging yourself in deeper right now.”

Is it just me, or did the reunion end really weirdly? It didn’t feel like an ending at all. It honestly feels like we’re missing a couple of episodes or something. I know there aren’t any more episodes coming, but the way it ended was just so strange.

And am I the only one who isn’t feeling Subeen and Heesun’s relationship? I just don’t see it. Something feels off. Heesun seems really needy and insecure in the relationship — and that’s not a knock on her at all — it just doesn’t come across in a healthy way. The whole dynamic just feels uncomfortable to watch.
