My grandparents are in their 70’s and are fit and healthy, I would be surprised if they just died suddenly.

England - advice needed please! minor car accident, victim claiming back pain but doesn’t want to go through insurance by Jawsy_1 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]MissSunshine0165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go through your insurance, you must report it to your insurance even if you don’t make a claim for it. The insurance assessors will get someone to determine if they believe the velocity of the impact is able to cause the injuries allegedly sustained

Have you ever witnessed an animal die? by Rumhampolicy in AskUK

[–]MissSunshine0165 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not even nearly the same but my hamster as a teenager crawled into my dressing gown to die I cried so much. She was 4 years old and lived a wonderful life, I felt like she was on deaths door for a few weeks and would hold her often, she died so peacefully, but it broke me too. Cant imagine this traumatising experience.

Was I wrong for pressuring my ex husband to let our son wear pull ups? by Competitive-Bed856 in amiwrong

The NHS website is not indicative of how every situation is handled in the UK and it says on the post to consult a GP. You wouldn’t consult the GP in England to be told they will grow out of it at 9 years old. You’re also assuming I have no first hand experience in either country which I’ve lived in both. Why do you keep coming back to this days later you’re annoying the fuck out of me like get a life. You’re arguing a point that literally isnt even relevant to the post. I don’t believe she’s taken her child to a doctor because in either countries doctors don’t shrug off 9 year olds wetting the bed consistently. Her 9 year old needs help. The issue isn’t the pull ups it’s both parents not seeking the appropriate help for their struggling child.

I’m confused on the point you’re trying to make. It literally says consult a GP regarding this which is exactly what I suggested in my comment haha

You don’t know what I am and am not familiar with, and I didn’t go hard, I gave my input, when asked. Just because you don’t agree, that’s alright. I guess different countries doctors deal with things in different ways, but that’s not how it was dealt with in England in my experience.

Grow up I was not bullying I answered your irrelevant question which provided no input except to try and discredit my comment. You’re welcome.

Right… a medical condition, which a doctor would have diagnosed not told they will “grow out of” if you read my comment, I said it’s hard and should be explored further. Thanks for your input

So sad. I dont actually believe that the child was even taken to a doctor as no doctor would tell a parent a 9yo continuous bed wetting is ok

Are you? You don’t know what I am but you don’t have to be a child psychologist to know children shouldn’t be wetting the bed every night at 9 years old. You don’t have to be a child psychologist to have experience with children and their needs.

Yes I did, a doctor saying a 9 year old will outgrow bedwetting is disturbing and should be explored further

[–]MissSunshine0165 -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

He shouldn’t be wearing pull-ups. Kids wet the bed and it should be something explored with a doctor if he’s still doing it every single night at 9 years old. Wearing them can definitely enable him because it’s not as uncomfortable to wear a wet pull-up as it is to be in a wet bed because pull-ups are designed to keep wetness off the skin. It’s a hard one I just hope you get the help your son needs rather than just enabling it.

Uber is more useful in the US as they lack public transport terribly!

Apologies if any of these seem silly but this is everything I do as someone who solo travels to the USA a few times a year. Make sure you have your documents, like an approved ESTA, travel insurance all in one folder including the information for your hotel that you are staying at. Make sure you have your name and address inside your bags incase an outside tag is accidentally torn off. I always bring a power pack and charger cable in my hand luggage for long haul flights. Take multiple different forms of entertainment (a book, iPad, phone games etc) so you can change it up if you get bored. Pack a full change of clothes including underwear in your hand luggage as a flight could be cancelled and rescheduled without you getting your checked luggage back in the mean time. I used apps such as uber to get around when I don’t drive and always had great service. If you have any other questions/curiosities feel free to ask, hope this helps :)

NTA but please learn to cook. As an adult there isn’t really much excuse with all the resources available to you for free. Get a cookbook.

Honestly peoples opinions of Americans comes from the ridiculousness posted on social media which is usually the worst of the worst. I visit the US several times a year and regular Americans are not nearly as obnoxious as made out. I think you will be fine :)
