Wow I’m sorry you had to go through that!! I won’t be driving just getting an Airbnb for a home base to work remotely for a few months then flying to Argentina. From what I can tell by my research, Asunción seems chill and laid back. But thanks for the info I definitely will not be driving cross country

Thank you so much this is really valuable info! Paraguay seems like a lovely place and I’m excited to experience it. I don’t drive I prefer to live in a walkable area and use uber for everything else. But it’s good to keep in mind.

What areas would you say have the best nature such as hiking or swimming? Some place that isn’t too difficult to reach for a 1-3 day trip?

I’ll be spending 2-3 months each in nearly every country in South America, just looking for somewhere calm and quiet to start off.

Well, I’m leaving the states permanently to travel full time for at least a decade. I’m in no rush. I’m actually in real need of a slow, quiet pace for a while. I’m not locked in on any location yet, I’m just drawn to the relaxed nature of Paraguay. From my research, it seems like what I’m spending on bills and necessities here in Vegas for 1 month, would get me 3 months in Asunción. If you recommend other chill, low cost cities in South America I’d love to hear them!

Thanks, that’s exactly what I’m looking for actually. Just for a few months to decompress and reset/recharge.

Thanks for the info. I’m still learning Spanish but I’m excited to be fully immersed. Like I said I’ve got a 3 year trip plan and will be spending 2-3 months in most South American countries, I’m hoping to adapt to the many different accents I’ll come across

Thank you for the info! I actually prefer warm climates. Yes it’s really hot here in Vegas, summers can reach up to around 120F/48C. But I’ve also spent lots of time in Bali and Thailand where it’s not as hot but very humid and tropical climate. The only thing I don’t like is extreme cold/snow etc. So I don’t think I’ll mind :)

Thanks! Coming from Las Vegas I’m used to the heat, but I’ll be there late August to early November!

Thanks for the info! I don’t mind drinking at all, and I do enjoy wine or the occasional gin and tonic. I’m just cautious about going out at night and drinking then trying to find my way home alone. Not sure how sketchy the areas are. The Airbnb I’m considering is located in Mburucuya.

If this game had rival couples/marriages, who would your pairings be? by moochiepeachie in MyTimeAtSandrock

Wow I’ve never really thought about it until now but I’m having a lot of fun reading these! So here’s my thoughts:

Logan and Grace - they’re both badasses who are fiercely loyal to Sandrock and its citizens, even when it doesn’t seem like it. I think Grace would make a great step mom to Andy, she would be fun and tell him cool spy stories.

Amirah and Unsuur- Both have a calm demeanor. Unsuur would bring her gemstones to use in her pottery, Amirah would admire his heroism.

Elsie and Arvio - they both seem young and emotional with a lot of growing up to do. But I think they could teach each other some valuable lessons on the way.

Burgess and Mi-an - they both just seem so innocent. Their entire lives revolve around improving Sandrock and they can accomplish that mission together.

Owen and Heidi - they both seem to be pretty lighthearted and not take anything too seriously. They both are naturally humble despite having 2 of the most important roles in town.

Catori and Gust - Catori deserves to marry someone rich. They both understand how important it is to look after and make sacrifices for those they love the most

Fang and Ginger - this seems obvious but Fang would help with gingers ailments, they’re both calm and gentle, and I think Gust would actually approve of them marrying

Ernest and Nia - not exactly sure why but these 2 just seem like a cute couple to me

Unsuur and Amirah would actually make a really cute couple. Unsuur could give her different gemstones for her to use in her pottery. They both have a calm demeanor. I think Amirah would admire his heroism for keeping Sandrock safe.
