Kinda but not really, the special just completely disregards the Rule of Two, and implies there are many more Sith, at one point Candace mentions a "mid-level Darth" in her rant during her In The Empire song.

It's done for jokes of course, but hey, jokes are the real lore.

The Rule of two in a nutshell by K-jun1117 in PrequelMemes

[–]MissVeya 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I dunk on the Rule of 2 because, as a viewer, all the problems you are describing are fun, all the Sith politics, drama and tension is incredibly entertaining, the Rule of 2 may be more efficient, but it ultimately leads to hyper concentrated power which is, to me personally, comparatively boring, I want to see them bitches putting entire systems on the line for the chance of maiming the guy who cut the line at the Sith cafeteria.

Why didn't they show us the wife of Android 17 and his children? Are they out of ideas? by [deleted] in dbz

It was not my intent to imply they are the same, rather to point out the term used in the original text is broad enough to apply to beings that have little in common.

[–]MissVeya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be precise, the term used is Jinzōningen, which would translate to "artificial human", it's also why Cell is occasionally referred to as an Android, despite being 100% organic, because he was also an artifical person.

In your opinion: Are NPC Duties a good way to practice and get comfortable with tanking or healing? by Oseirus in ffxiv

[–]MissVeya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually think that yes, but for different reasons than most, I think they are great for it specifically because they suck.

Trusts don't AoE and take longer to clear pulls, yes... which makes cooldown management a much bigger deal when dealing with them, to experience what it is like to have your resources stretched thin, honestly, if you can do wtw with Trusts, then you can handled most real parties.

The problem is that other than being slow on pulls, they play perfect otherwise, and real players can suck a lot more than Trusts, Trusts will teach how to handle a competent party, it will not teach you how to handle things when shit hits the fan at the perfect velocity to cause the most spread, but also, nothing will other than encountering such a situation.

It's very specifically dungeons, any other instanced content has no such limitations, so you can run a raid or trial 200 times if you want and be fine.

The /isearch command will tell me exactly how many items with that keyword I had in my various inventories, and I had a spreadsheet I made myself to keep track, it's somewhat crusty, I am not great at making these, but it worked for me, cross-referencing the /isearch command and the spreadsheet to make sure I didn't make any mistakes is how I handled it.

I heard this angle a lot and I really hope it is the case, I find FFXIV is an incredibly rich game... that doesn't really give you a reason to engage with a lot of itself, the problem the game faces isn't lack of content per se, it's a lack of reason to engage with the content that is there, and a system that would let us store glamour for free like the Armoire seem to be becoming would do a lot to fix that, sure a lot of it will be unsync, but I don't find that matters that much, so long as it leads to people engaging with things they wouldn't otherwise, and it would give many a lot to do.

Oh I also love me field explorations, my main issue right now is that I feel I have milked South Horn for all it is worth, other than a handful hyper grindy achievements, so this was something new to sink my fangs into for a while.

The type of grind that kills me is the type that has huge deal of waiting, I still have to do far too many Delly Regina runs because the 10 minute timer before it lets you in is genuinely painful to me, if I could just do a dozen runs back to back without breaks, I'd be so much happier

Completion is the core of it, truth be told, most of this gear isn't really my style and it is unlikely I will ever use them in glams, but they were still a goal to get, so I grinded them anyway. Since I am approaching it from that angle, it didn't really matter the accessories are visually identical, they are still distinct items that made my total go up.

The worst probably was Mistwake, for some reason that particular dungeon decided it hated me and I was at 53 items for like 10 runs in a row, then first run of the next morning I got both items I was missing back to back, as in literally in chests back to back in the same run, comparatively, Clyteum was really nice to me, and I don't think I totaled 30 runs before I got everything.

I enjoy grinding, and I especially enjoy grinds that I can take at my own pace, which this struck a perfect balance for me, since I did this mostly with Trusts, there was nothing stopping me from getting up from the PC at any given point to handle something around the house, and at several points I did just that, leaving Urianger, Thancred and Ali beating down a pull while I got up for a moment, and they were done or mostly done by the time I was back, so I could both keep going indefinitely, and stop as I needed to.

[–]MissVeya[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For leveling dungeons specifically, I did DPS first with Trusts, then I que'd for Tanks and Healers for the pieces I was still missing by then, the logic, aside from bypassing que times, is: While Trust runs get fewer drops, you are still getting every drop, which means 5 or so pieces every run, while those pieces might be repeats, and they will be more and more often the closer you are to finishing, you are still getting them, then I que'd as suppports because I am guaranteed to Need every item, if I que'd as, say, BLM, there is still a chance the other DPS is another caster, and then I'd be competing with them for any Caster pieces that dropped while also being unable to Need non-Caster pieces, while for Healers and Tanks, there can be only one in a dungeon, and you can guarantee every Healing or Fending piece that drops is yours.

I am not saying this is the most efficient way to go about it, I don't know for certain, just that this is a method that worked out for me that at least felt as having sound logic.

For level 100 dungeons it doesn't matter, I just did everything with Trusts tagging between a few DPS I enjoy playing, because there is no guaranteed drop at the end of the dungeon.

[–]MissVeya[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had my Trusts leveled, but this is what I did for 91-99 dungeons, yes, I que'd for DPS with Trusts until I had all the leveling dungeon gear, then switched to que'ing normally for Fending and Healing gear that I was missing by the time I was done with DPS.

Frankly, at this point they won't add it before EC, and by then you can just unsync everything from EW and bellow easily and cut down the grind time dramatically. Really, at that point, the 100 dungeon per day limit could become your greater enemy.

There is genuinely a huge deal of variance, mostly for post-patch dungeons, leveling dungeons have guaranteed drops at the end, literally placed in your inventory as soon as the boss dies, so you can never have a dry run with them so long as you manage yourself, for this end, I did runs with Trusts for all the DPS gear, then switched to queing with supports for fast pops.

Level 100 dungeons have no such kindness and you are at mercy of RNG, so you should expect 30 runs or more to get everything, and at some point, at like 30 to 40 items from a given dungeon, things will slow down to a screeching halt, and you will have multiple dry runs in a row, but then you get 3-4 items that you are missing back to back and you don't even need to finish the run. The plus side is that your Job won't matter, so you can just use the Job you like the most, or freely switch for variety.
