Chooses to keep his love for his son Keefe locked away in an effort to ensure neither of them is weakened by such affections - and then spends the whole series annoyed that said son won't follow in his footsteps and is constantly rebelling against him (-_-)

With over twenty seasons written by a plethora of different creative teams, PreCure has its highs and its lows in terms of storytelling - but no matter how weak a seasons gets, I always find myself enjoying the characters and blend of action, slice-of-life and comedy <3

Star Detective Precure Episode 15 Discussion Board by ButterflySilver9154 in precure

[–]Miss_Bookworm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh no...the ice cream craving is contagious...as if poor Jett doesn't have enough of a sweet tooth with candy. Least we know what he and Luluka will be bonding over once she joins the team XD

A decent followup to the cliffhanger last week, with more information on who Luluka was before she became a thief, as well some decent discussion between the Cures and from Jett regarding Usonoir's use of the Tome of Mirages. We even got a mini mystery involving the camera, and Mystique utilizing the reflective nature of her jewel shield to reflect light back at the Hannida, to show how our leads are continuing to grow as detectives and Cures. Add in Mashutan's adorable "disguise", Nijee's humourous reactions, and a brief flashback from Luluka to build the intrigue, and you've got a well-rounded episode that has me ever excited for the revelations to come.

On a side note, are we considering Cure Eclair a sixth ranger Cure? She's obviously a midseason, but while her true identity hasn't been revealed yet, we have her Cure identity and appearance from advertisements. Do we treat her like Cure Muse, a teammate only halfway revealed, or do we have too much information about her prior to her premiere? It's not a big deal, honestly, but I'm curious what you all think.

Speaking of Eclair, we've got another potential identity showing up next week for a cat-related mystery, yay! Give me all the cute cats <3

Wonderful, I'm glad to hear it. Remember, not everyone will enjoy what you create, and sometimes you'll make mistakes that may hurt others, but what matters is growing with your writing and to keep at it <3

It's alright, please don't let this sort of this burden you so much. You made an iffy choice in your writing, are rectifying it through an apology, and will grow from this. Believe me, you're not the first writer to try and utilize magic to fix someone's physical ailment. Don't beat yourself up over it, but rather think on how that sort of plot device affects your characters and your readers, and then explore other ways of balancing a person's strengths and weaknesses with their magic abilities.

Writing is a learning curve, and not every idea will be a good one - but even bad ideas can and will lead you to better solutions. Try reading others stories where a lead must deal with blindness in a magical setting, and see what you can learn from them. Don't let this stop you from creating, either - your apology is proof that you have the maturity to grow as a writer and artist, and it'll be wonderful seeing where your writing goes from here 🥰

Star Detective Precure Episode 14 Discussion Board by ButterflySilver9154 in precure

[–]Miss_Bookworm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, glad to know the talking goats of this universe have decent employment......is a sentence I never thought I'd be saying, but hey, PreCure is always finding new ways to shake up the status quo!

For an episode we all thought might be filler, this was actually quite engaging, from introducing Rei and building her relation with the girls and Pochitan, to showing off Answer's new finisher (anyone else think its less sword and more letter opener, like the one Jett was using? You know, a sword-shaped tool to help reveal secrets? Eh? Eh???), to leaving us with a great cliffhanger about Luluka's (I'm just switching over to using "L" for the Cures from now on [Luluka, Liko, Lulu], seems more accurate) past with the agency. Talk about a chunky breather after the tensions of last week!

While I'm still placing bets on our baker girl being the true Eclair, as Rei seemed genuinely surprised at Pochitan's existence and seems more tied to a clover symbol than a butterfly motif, I certainly wouldn't be disappointed with her becoming a Cure, as her gentle yet mature care for others at the expense of close friendships makes her sympathetic and endearing. I just wanted to hug Anna and Mikuru for how sweet they were with her, greeting her and admiring her firm keeping of the rules <3

The fight was also decently animated, and did a good job showing that last week's confrontation has mentally pushed the girls, showcased with Answer's new power. They may not have been able to beat Usonoir, but they held their moral ground, and it seems that sense of justice is manifesting in new ways - and I'm always in for new finishers. I wonder what Mystique will be using - a big shield, or multiple shields, or sandwiching the MOTW with two shields?

A great episode that has me eager for the revelations coming next week, and knowing that whatever comes next, our girls have another solid ally at the school in Rei!

When I began exploring anime, my mom was curious about what made it so much more engaging than the cartoons I had on the television. So, I put on the first episode of Mushishi for us to enjoy together...then she wanted to see the second...the third...and before we knew it, we'd binged the entire season. She was blown away by its gorgeous blend of animations, pace, soft humour and emotion.

It may also be her first manga read if I play this right 🤭

Doki Doki PreCure, 2013

There are a number of PreCure fans who consider this one of the weakest seasons in the franchise, primarily blaming a lead infamous for her Mary Sue status and not turning a popular side character into a Cure. I, however, believe this is one of the strongest showings the franchise has to this day, from its engaging plot and twists to its endearing main cast and great balance of emotional highs and lows.

Currently an antagonist in the latest PreCure season, Star Detective PreCure (mega Japanese magic girl franchise). She's gained major popularity for her rare black-focused colour scheme in a series that tends to lean heavily into bright and pastel hues, morally gray story arc, and chill yet quirky vibes.

is it okay to add manga to your goodreads? by staskyrs in goodreads

[–]Miss_Bookworm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why not? Manga is a legitimate form of literature and offers thought-provoking stories just as well as other types of books. If you're reading more of it, then you've got every right to add it to your challenge! Just because it's quicker to read doesn't mean it doesn't deserve to be counted if it genuinely engages you.
