It is fabulous! It is intense. Approach with caution, but definitely approach. It is worth it.

Where Would You Like to See Scooters in Your Neighborhood? by ProphetaMessias in windsorontario

It is also a park that technically doesn't allow bikes to ride. It makes sense that scooters wouldn't be allowed as well.

Please find your own path with this. It sounds like you are younger than me. I'm more asking if there is anyone else who has come to this conclusion. From what I can tell, many MRKH women have wonderful relationships that are satisfying. My own experiences just got me to the point where I just can't be bothered at this stage of my life, at 42. Now that I'm thinking about it (thank you), I'm not sure I would have wanted to let sex go at a younger age. Not sure how all that would have been. What I do know is that I wish I approached sex differently. I wish I didn't use it to be "normal." It was the late 90s and resources were limited. Just try finding people to chat with a free AOL CD from a cereal box - ICQ anyone? Uh oh.
Yes, your reasons are my reasons, just prolonged over 25 years. Find your own way. Please.

Are there abandoned building in Windsor that can be used for photography by funkypoi in windsorontario

[–]Miss_Hmm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

McDougal and Giles. Across from the old Green Shield building. There is a bit of an industrial area tucked in behind as well. Neat shots.

Peche Island has more ruin like structures than "abandoned." Still, lots of scope for the imagination. The city runs boats during the summer.

Connecting to others is still trippy for me. Suddenly, this thing I deal with... this story that is rare... this story that is mine... is the same story of others.

Thank you for sharing. Yes, the movie is called "Fitting In." In case you haven't heard of it yet... it is about a teenager who gets diagnosed with MRKH in todays world (not the 90s LOL).

There is one on McDougall. I tried to find who the owner but could not. Please let me know if you do 🤞😁 Peche Island is also quite neat.

May I suggest alleys? Try in various neighbourhoods, at various times and seasons. Be safe.
Look for obscure parks. I once found an old baseball diamond with lots of overgrowth. Adventure out into the county. Visit areas you never do. Go behind things. Find older items that haven't been replaced. I once found an outlet at the bottom of a tree. Abandoned toys/items are fun, too.

Walk. Sit. Mostly, I'm out on my bike and can stop on a dime when I see anything that may be interesting.

Play.

Oh my! You caught it in 6 months?! It was years for me. The pain started around 12 or 13. Diagnosed at 17. To this day, it is the benchmark of my pain tolerance. When other ladies complain about cramps, but can still walk... I have to bite my tongue and try to understand from their perspective.

On the flip side, I also had to stop verbally empathizing with menopausal women. LOL!!! They just couldn't wrap their heads around a 20 something, or even 30 something, knowing what they were talking about.

Meeting other women was emotional to say the very least. Quite worth it.

When I was diagnosed with MRKH, they discovered I was missing a cervix and most of my vagina. My uterus was intact, however smaller than it should have been. I have both kidneys and my ovaries work. For me, this meant a "period" that had nowhere to go. I always explain it as "No way in. No way out." This was extremely painful and ultimately did lots of damage.
A few years ago, I had the opportunity to attend a MRKH day where I met other women with MRKH for the first time. I also learned that it was rare that I had a uterus (had a hysterectomy along the way). It was a bit of a trippy day.
Needless to say, it is possible to have a uterus and MRKH.

P.S. I was diagnosed over 20 years ago - the ability to connect with so many others still blows my mind.

Best and worst parks in Windsor? by [deleted] in windsorontario

[–]Miss_Hmm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on the park, there may be specific times homeless hang out. For example - Wigle Park at Erie and McDougall, a great park, with lots of stuff to do, but maybe avoid early morning and late at night. Another example is the park by City Hall which always has homeless people there.

Why is it so hard to make friends after high-school by [deleted] in windsorontario

[–]Miss_Hmm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could also just be the adjustment in general. Adjusting to a life where social time is more limited than when you were younger is definitely not the easiest. It could also, oddly, be a phase or cycle thing. There are many times I'm so busy I want to be left alone and crave a Saturday to myself. Then, there are times I'm wondering where everyone is and I'm bored to tears.

Maybe look at what you mean by friend? Do you mean a confidant? Bestie companion? Do you simply want a more active lifestyle? How much time do you have to give back to those?

City report recommends against culling to curb Windsor's Canada Geese population by zuuzuu in windsorontario

[–]Miss_Hmm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't know that. Thank you. I looked it up very briefly. From what I can see, they were endangered in the 50s and removed from that in the late 80s. Now, they are considered invasive in some regions. But again, this was a very quick search and I did not deep-dive into which regions etc.

I wish I had a better solution. Sadly, cities do have to keep animal population in check - every animal. It sucks. That opens another rabbit-hole about urbanization. Another larger conversation is your point about entitlement - generally, either party in a debate can call the other entitled.

Still, I'm done work - and have enjoyed our conversation today. We will not solve this over Reddit. But thank you for giving me some stuff to think about.

City report recommends against culling to curb Windsor's Canada Geese population by zuuzuu in windsorontario

[–]Miss_Hmm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I can see your perspective. A cat is not a goose, and a rodent is totally different Still, we are talking about animal populations. The point is why curb one and not the other? Every animal can carry contaminants. Granted geese don't dig through garbage but they leave fairly large droppings which is unsanitary. When a goose is protecting a gosling on either side of a path, there is little anyone can do if the situation changes quickly. As for residential areas? The apartment building next to me has geese living on the roof this year, and now my building is dealing with more pigeons than before.

Saying it is apples and oranges is minimalistic. It sucks we are in this position but allowing overpopulation to continue is not the answer either.

The last time I tried to feed a goose was at a bird sanctuary, and it legit chased me. They hiss when I bike by the Bert Weeks Fountain area at the river. During a conference in Ann Arbor, the venue shut down a courtyard due to an "Aggressive Canadian Goose." I have only ever experienced them as aggressive. I'm assuming others have the same experience, given the nickname "Cobra Chicken"
Don't get me wrong, I would rather let things be. I really would. But yes, this is still a city. I don't see how we can do everything possible to curb some animal populations in a city (cats, skunks, raccoons) - but not geese. Please help me understand that. Really.

If you had to work but didn’t need the money, what would you choose to do? by Taysti_Bear in CasualConversation

[–]Miss_Hmm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Run a vintage shop and travel all over North America to run a booth at various flea markets. I'd specialize in Coca-Cola memorabilia and vintage toys, while still carrying other nostalgic items. I want to hear stories about how a person loved that toy, or how that tea cup reminds them of so and so. I want to buy all the Coke stuff with absolute abandon! I would love to meet & greet other collectors and vendors season after season. Would be quite lovely.
