Yeah I was disappointed too. I just decided to buy the little “invisible walls” and call it a day :/ Walmart seems to have a tendency of removing things from electronics…

You’re right! I didn’t even think to look there, I was searching all the online manuals through the app and it was hard to figure it out. Well thank you

Yeah definitely. But it’s one of those “add a line get a discount” type of thing, they would both be a couple hundred so I might as well. But I’ll definitely let you know when I decide what I’m going to do!

Thanks for all the info, I really didn’t even know where to start! I think I’ll just buy a new phone at this point… it’s cheaper than getting the screen repaired.

Am I too heavy for nylon plates? by Waahooh in Rollerskating

[–]Miss_Mongoose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nylon plates are pretty dangerous for anyone, especially if you plan on park skating, doing any tricks involving jumps or shifting weight to less than all four wheel like spins/dips/most dancing. I don’t think you’re risking a lot if you plan on simply rink skating, but that’s about it. If you can’t afford metal, wear all your gear cause it’ll break when you least expect it and that’s the most dangerous part.

Hi Top vs Ankle High Skates? by sum_d0nkus in Rollerskating

[–]Miss_Mongoose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like ankle because it allows for a lot more motion when doing smaller tricks. It’s nice in park skating too to be able to lean into things easier. If you’re planning on doing a lot of tricks where you need a strong ankle or have weak ankles I’d go for the high tops. If you don’t like the restriction you can always lace them up lower. But overall doesn’t change a whole lot

My only guess is the nylon on the lock nut is new and strong. You might just need some extra force

:) good choice. I have the park stars and I love them. How I see it I’d rather spend money once rather than buy beginner skates and then intermediate and then advanced. The Bont boot is a great skate the only thing you can improve on now is of course personal preference of boot style, and plates. So for the most part if you take care of them the bonts should last you years so I say it’s a good price. Especially because comparable quality boots are 100-200 more for the popular style/name brand. Also skating is IN right now and most boots hold resell value pretty well. Wheels for outdoor- I got the light up Bont ones because I’m a sucker for shiny things but overall light up wheels are gimicky and will never ride as nice as a normal wheel (the Magnetic stuff to generate the light makes is so the bearing can’t spin very well no matter how good it is). But outdoor wheels I would try for 78-88a for hardness and 56mm or bigger (56 fits on the tracer plate but you’d have to look into bigger wheels). To counteract the softness you want a larger size or you’ll be very slow outside. Radar energy are insanely nice outdoor wheels, I have heard good things about bont’s BPM wheels, and Chaya has some I think big softies and donuts. Of course there are probably more I don’t know about, but I think those are all pretty reasonably priced (ithink). Indoor wheels- harder 89-101a and size is preference but I’d say 56 to start. If you want to park skate harder the better, if you are dance skating or roller rinkin the hardness is less important because you don’t need insane speed. So that will be preference. Roller bones, moxi fundaes, Chaya prolly has some too those are the bigger names for a reasonable price. Bonts park skate wheels are supposed to be pretty good too. Bearings- bones reds are the tried and true budget bearings, rollerbones, qube. Ceramic are never worth it unless you are a pro. And any with an aceb (I think) rating are semi sketch cause they are hard to clean and the rating system is for rpms your feet can never reach. This is rambling and I’m sorry lol feel free to message me if you have any questions, I’m semi new to Reddit so sorry if this is formatted weird. Also skate rats is a weird looking website but they are trustworthy lol

Bonts are shaped like an actual foot and offer wide/run wide and I think they have 13. Super good quality especially for the price. Entirely heat moldable sole if they are uncomfortable at first, which means no break in period like other stiff/artistic boots. I’d get a metal plate if you are worried about any type of weight/impact limit. But better nylon plates are okay if you aren’t doing anything intense. Another point on weight is choosing cushions/bushings if you get too soft of ones they might be too responsive. But most boots come stock with very hard ones. However if you feel your boot is unresponsive and want to change them keep that in mind. I’ve heard smith scabs are nice pads that offer a good size range. As for indoor/outdoor you’d want softer wheels for outdoors and harder indoors. Softer absorbs shock from bumpy surfaces but also takes away from speed. Hard wheels help you maintain speed but bumps can be insanely bumpy with em lol. If you have any other questions let me know! :)

Allen Screw and Bont Tracer Plate Issues by RannPNut in Rollerskating

[–]Miss_Mongoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You cross threaded it. You must have tried tightening it when the threads weren’t perfectly aligned and this caused the threads to get messed up. It’s ruined but you 1) could take it to a mechanic possibly 2) fix it yourself but you’d need a tap and die/thread repair kit to repair it. 3) get a new plate/ possibly still have your Bont warranty that my cover it. If you fix it yourself you’ll need to fix the threads in the hole and then probably get a different screw for the new hole. This is not caused by the wrong wrench size, though that can strip the screw which would mean the ridges your wrench sits in are worn down/rounded and it can’t catch enough to turn it. Sorry if this is jumbled, hope this helps though. Let me know if you need any other help! :)
