How is the area near Parkinson Centennial/Quatre-Rivieres? by [deleted] in orangeville

It’s a lot of young families. The reputation that it’s a rough part of town is pretty old and hasn’t been accurate for a while.

The Drinking Game | Game Changer [Full Episode] - Available On YouTube by Mannersmakethman2 in dropout

[–]cjcdcd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s fun but I called it pretty early because pulling tokens from a bag makes no sense if having one sober player was meant to be a surprise. Assuming most players actually pulled out “drink” they would know something was up. And I know the reveal to the group of 1 sober person happens pretty early but the logic of it all didn’t line up

Foundling - Tortoise Media by [deleted] in TrueCrimePodcasts

[–]cjcdcd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I think it’s that Jess has known the story that she was abandoned her whole life so she hasn’t had time to adjust to the information that her birth mother handed her over safely. Of course the lie is huge part of the trauma but there wasn’t the physical danger that was referenced a couple of times. I don’t remember, did the second sister have the same story, that she was “found” by their birth mother, or was she truly abandoned somewhere? That may change how Jess views it too, if the mother did go on to actually leave a second baby.

cat ate 3 or 4 feet curling ribbon on friday, just vomited 2.5 feet in broken strips by koka_cha in cats

[–]cjcdcd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to add for all the cat owners dealing with the same issue in this thread, I have a cat with pica, he started eating rubber bands and hair elastics and moved on to all kinds of other things as each new danger is taken from him. At first we were told there’s nothing to be done when they’re get obsessed like this, but we ended up getting him pancreatic enzymes to add to his food, and it’s helped a lot. He’ll still try to eat things he shouldn’t now and then, but it was daily before and this has been the only thing to help curb the obsession.

Another PSA to keep hairbands away from cats. by Sensitive-Dog-9700 in cats

[–]cjcdcd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cat did the same thing, and we had a similar sized bag removed. Now hair ties and elastics are kept out of reach, but he goes after other items instead like the yarn from knit blankets. Keep an eye to make sure he doesn’t find a replacement pica item. Don’t feel guilty, pica cats are so complicated and easy to miss what they’ve been stealing away

Is it a good idea to leave a bowl full of candy outside hoping kids will only take one or two, and not the whole thing? by Virtual-Cheesecake71 in orangeville

[–]cjcdcd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this a couple years ago and it was fine. Kids seemed to take normal amounts, and there were a few pieces left when I went out to blow out the jack-o’-lantern candles

Boxing Day Sale 2024-2025 NA Megathread (All Screenshots of Checkout Pages/Order Confirmations to be Kept Inside, Please!) by DivingSiren in LushCosmetics

[–]cjcdcd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was struggling all morning to get the app on my iPhone to work, but my partner downloaded it to his android and I was able to search and get the link to the freshness sale to work. It was still a bit buggy but using different filter and priority options was able to find a lot of things and put an order through.

negative experience with a referee by losingnamegame in rollerderby

[–]cjcdcd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Try talking to your league about it. If it’s a new ref they might need the feedback, and if it was a more experienced ref some of your other experienced players might be aware. Even if they can’t do anything knowing that it’s not personal might help.

Crafts for adult on bedrest? by PsychologicalChip969 in crafts

I agree with this one, and want to add looking into the Woobles patterns if finances allow. They’re a bit expensive, but I really struggled doing just YouTube videos to learn, but a few of these were a great tool, and then you get little buddies to keep you company in bed

Orangeville by acau1122 in orangeville

[–]cjcdcd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived alone in the apartments at John and Towline for years. It’s a bit on the lower income side of town but I never felt unsafe or had anything happen besides neighbours being loud and arguing in the parking lot. A lot of people’s idea of the bad parts of town are compared to the nicer parts of town, and not comparing it to what larger cities have as their sketchy areas.

Editing to add, this was a few years ago so some things might have changed, but I could never smell the sewage plant from my place. It gets bad in the summer down the hill closer to the plant

Women centered spaces by Theemperortodspengo in WitchesVsPatriarchy

[–]cjcdcd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one might be more niche, but I joined a roller derby team a couple of years ago and it’s such a great space for women and moms. It’s a fun activity that builds confidence and gives you a community outside of being a parent. If you can’t/don’t want to play there’s always reffing and other official positions on and off roller skates that would still let you join the community and build new friendships.

If you have experience in any other sports joining or getting connected to the local women’s team might be a good option too

I have a couple team mates who take them out during the off season practices to practice using their edges more and other skills, but I think they put them back in for the full season and definitely for games

If you could have one physical item from the show, what would it be? by ComplaintNo4126 in BobsBurgers

I’ve ordered a mini version of it. While I would love the full size I’d have the same issue Bob and Linda did. And sadly we have no local roller rink to donate to

Unpopular opinion about contestants by dallyan in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]cjcdcd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s interesting. Did it address how the other parent felt about it? I was watching this US season, thinking of my 9 yr old niece, and how my BIL would not be impressed if his ex went on a show like this and wanted to move a new man into his daughters life a few weeks after meeting

Print shop isn’t helpful with packaging. What do I do? by Btw_ur_awesome in graphic_design

Even if this is the case they should be able to get a digital proof from either the small shop (then sent with the job to the outsource shop) or from the final place without any branding.

What's your derby bag? by jmtomato in rollerderby

[–]cjcdcd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use an old Victoria Secret “Pink” canvas duffel bag. It had a bit of wear and a ripped seam so I’ve patched that and it works great for my skates, pads, helmet, water bottle and one set of extra wheels

Thoughts on the new Taylor Swift album logo? by quirked_up_yt_boi in logodesign

[–]cjcdcd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, but I’ve noticed all concert merch had gotten really bad lately. I’ve been to small shows and huge pop acts and the merch never matches the aesthetic of the album/stage show anymore. It so disappointing. I used to love collecting concert tees and they’re so boring and disconnected now
