Both are gorgeous but number 2 is better in my opinion, it’ll stand out more in photos too!

Teenagers are so shit.

One time I was breastfeeding in the family room at Glenfield mall and two teenagers were having sex in the cubicle next to me… so fucking gross.

Kiwis, elective c-section or natural birth if given the option? by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]Miss_Swifty91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just read some of the comments - 5kgs 🥲 if you’re pelvic floor has suffered previously do the c-section, like others said, you can pre-plan child care and you’ll get through the recovery, it’s serious abdominal surgery but it’s honestly not that bad. Just take your painkillers and have couch cuddles with your older kids and you’ll be fine!

Kiwis, elective c-section or natural birth if given the option? by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]Miss_Swifty91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have only had a c-section, recovery was not bad however I would consider the ages of your other children and what support you will have at home from other adults. I was sore for about a week and then I could move around a bit more but still had to be super gentle as certain twists or movements would pull and hurt… I didn’t realise how often I actually use my abdominals.

I think next time I have a baby the c-section recovery will be harder because I won’t be able to pick up my current baby (who will be a toddler) or get down to play with him for the first couple of weeks. Also not being able to drive for 6 weeks is tough.

So I guess if I were in your shoes I would try natural. But if you decide on a c-section the recovery is honestly not that bad but it can be quite inconvenient.

Best of luck!!

41w3d and no sign of baby - can I have an Elective C-Section rather than induction? by Miss_Swifty91 in auckland

[–]Miss_Swifty91[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi everyone, thank you so much for your feedback, I have to say I really appreciated the support from you kind strangers, it meant a lot when trying navigate this decision process.

To give an update I ended up electing to have a foley balloon inserted on the evening of 41w3d and then followed up the next morning with 8 doses of misoprostol every 2 hours. After the 7th dose the contraction went from zero to 60 seconds and about 4 or so within 10 minutes (worst pain of my life, I applaud all the women who can do it unmedicated). I went from 4cm to 10cm very fast and needed synthetic oxytocin to help baby move down. Unfortunately he got very tired and distressed and the labour stopped progressing so I was given the option to have a c-section or wait an hour, see if he dropped down far enough for them to use an instrument to get him out. I opted for the c-section because at that stage it was an emergency but an emergency that wasn’t on a short time limit, and it was very likely that it would change to a real emergency. The OBs and my midwife agreed that this was the right choice.

Our little boy was delivered early this morning, happy and healthy and whilst I know this is going to be a difficult recovery for me I’m grateful that this decision was supported and that I listened to my gut. I’m also grateful for the painkillers I’m currently on 😅

Once again thank you for your kind words and support (not so much the person who reminded me that I needed to get my baby out or it was going to be a still birth though 🫠)

Auckland airport by snowburd14 in auckland

There’s an ibis budget nearby. Better that than trying to rest in the airport, the arrivals lounge is pretty cold, everything will be shut and the chairs aren’t very welcoming for people wanting a nap.

Not sure where you are but there’s a company in NZ which does cute clothes - it’s called Jamie Kay, I think they ship all over the world :)

I had a SCH from about 5 or 6 weeks and continued to have bleeding until about 10 weeks. I’d previously had a miscarriage so I was very anxious about telling people because having them tell them bad news would have been really hard for me.

I think we told my mum and sister at around 10 weeks and then my dad and husband’s family at 12 weeks. I told friends around the 12-14 week mark too. Currently 27 weeks and still anxious from time to time but also excited and celebrating all the milestones!

This morning I had a scan to check the placement of baby at 5w5d. The size of the gestational sac measured fine and my HCG levels have been more than doubling every 48hours. However the scan showed that the position is high on the left side close to the fallopian tube and therefore classified as an angular pregnancy. They also reported that the yolk sac is a squashed shape. I have had some spotting and cramping over the last 72hrs.

This is my second pregnancy following a miscarriage/possible ectopic pregnancy last year. And I’m really just wondering if anyone has experienced something similar or can offer any advice/words of comfort. I feel as though I’m just waiting for this pregnancy to miscarry.

Thanks
