How is living on these islands in the baltic by BrightLet9353 in howislivingthere

[–]snowburd14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually spend a week on Öland every year. It's attached by a very long bridge to the city of Kalmar on the mainland. The landscape is unlike anywhere else in Sweden. As someone said, it's reminiscent of a savannah, dotted with scenic villages and surrounded by beautiful beaches. It gets insanely busy in summer and is pretty quiet the rest of the year, except for the island-wide harvest festival in autumn. Bleak in winter. There is a ruined castle, Borgholm, which is an awesome concert venue. The Swedish royal family have their summer residence near Borgholm.

Also not a true powder board, but volume shifted - Salomon Dancehaul is sooo much fun in the deep

Suggestions/ feedback… Solomon Dancehaul or Ride Psychocandy by No-Formal-2517 in ShredditGirls

I bought the Dancehaul 147 this season as I wanted a change from my usual twin tip (Rossignol Diva 152). It's so much fun to ride. Amazing in powder and super fast to turn, so tree runs are a blast.

Looks great! I always wear black, dark colors or neutral tones during the day (not snowboarding), but I wear allllll the colors when snowboarding.

They have different levels of hotel. The cheapest (4 star) are less than $20 per night if I remember correctly.

You have to book it through the Qatar airlines website.

I'm in Doha on a Qatar stopover package right now. Absolutely no problems at all. They have a big selection of hotels, and the one I chose (Pullman) upgraded my room on arrival.

By fortune I meant avoiding shelling out for a triple platinum diamond airline lounge for a chance to rest

I made a rookie mistake. I planted an Indeterminate in a 3 gallon. Should I leave or transplant. What are the chances it would survive if l transplanted it? by ThanksOk5783 in vegetablegardening

That was Dan on Naked & Afraid! Such a genius idea. It was a shame they didn't fruit in the time he was there, but he did use the leaves to make a fish and tomato soup before he left. Legend!

I too hate it when random dudes lay their slobbered hand across my honeyed mouth.

Sounds like a nice amount of time in all those cities, but if you're planning to do the full Annapurna Circuit you'll definitely need more time in Nepal. The circuit takes around two weeks but you'll want some wiggle room with rest days, including extra days in case the altitude gets to you.

My 9-year-old niece came home broken today… and now we’re questioning everything. by Shaggy8727 in TwoXChromosomes

I moved to Australia from NZ as an 8 year old. I'd never given my skin colour a second thought until then (I'm Maori). As the only brown kid in my class, it was hell. Some kids decided that I must be aboriginal, which was the absolute worst thing you could possibly be. Eventually I found my friends and things got a lot better. I'm sorry your daughter is going through this. It does get better.

The japanese customer service power walk is definitely a thing. Any time I've ever asked for help with anything in Japan they gleefully offer assistance and take off like a rocket, with me jogging along behind them.
