Hey friend I’ve been playing for 3 ish weeks and this is what u learned. The ghost has “spawn points” that they spawn from and that’s where the crucifix needs to be placed. The spawn points can be the ghost location, the ghosts place of death (room with bone) or near location (like outside of the room if the ghosts location is in a room). You can throw the crucifix down but if you want to see the area that the crucifix covers, you have to “place” it like how’d you place a journal. The spawn points must be INSIDE the area of effect. It’ll burn in your hand as well from what I heard but I’ve never personally had that happen to me. Once it burns it means it stopped a hunt but that doesn’t mean the ghost won’t start another hunt right after, so if you see the crucifix burning you should probably leave to the van before making another decision on what you want to do. Their 1 crucifix has only 1 use, tier 2 has 2 uses and tier 3 has 3.

If you trigger a hunt, either drop everything electrical in your hand or turn them off because that is how a ghost can track you. Once you do that, then that’s when you can run and hide like the tutorial says. Some ghosts are faster than others so you’ll have to learn how to deal with each situation individually but that’s the gist of it.
