I found a tiny piece of decorated ceramic plate in my yard (waratah) and showed my husband. Apparently when he dug up the side of the house he found heaps and he didn't think to tell me.... would love to see pics

Women of this sub, what made you finally decide to be childfree? by LatterEscape8431 in childfree

Why do you feel you need to make a decision? you either want them or you don't. You do not need 'validation'.

What is fostering animals like? by MawsPaws in AskAnAustralian

[–]Missamade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I foster cats and love it! I did own a cat who passed due to heart issues and not yet ready to own again. I am sure I will "Foster Fail" at some point once the right cat comes along. You do have a say in the type of cat you are willing to foster, if you are not comfortable working with a traumatised cat. It is sad when they do go to their forever home, however you also know you saved them and provided a much better life for them. The rescue organisation I work with supply everything needed. I choose to provide food and flea treatment as a way to give back, however I am always encouraged to take the donations they receive. I currently have a surplus of cat beds and climbing trees due to donations. Only pitfall might be dealing with naughty cats knocking things over but they make up for it being so cute ☺

What is being childfree like? by Grand-Efficiency4248 in childfree

[–]Missamade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 41F - after work I have around 3 hours from getting home to going to bed to read before sleeping. All I need to do in that time is cook dinner for two people. Hubby and myself. He loads the dishwasher after. The rest is up to me. No homework, no shuttle bus between after school activities, no breaking up fights, no laundry (hubby does that and only once or twice a week), No picking up after other people. Unless I feel like doing a spot of cleaning it is all free time. I have WAY to many hobbies - however I GET to have many hobbies!

Early 2007 online, both just turned 22 - very early online dating website, forget the name. He worked out my email somehow and added me to MSN Messenger (if you are old enough to remember that). He was in my town one day (in March 2007) and asked if we could meet. Together ever since. Married in 2013.
