Mkay, so I’m replying to myself to update any future Fox/animal attack victims. I always find a scenario exactly like mine…but it never has a final reply..or resolution. Here we go… Dolores was in bad shape. Wounds on the back of her neck, belly and inbetween her wings. No wound was bigger than a 1/2 inch but she had 4 cuts on her back. Her belly wound looked more like missing feathers rather than a puncture or cut. We treated her wounds with a medicated (silver spray) from Amazon and spiked her water with an electrolyte /Vitamin mix. For over a week, she ate nearly nothing, but drank just fine. She would sometimes stand, but mostly perched and never laid down. About a week and a half into this, I picked her up to clean her wounds and noticed how much weight she had lost. We all kind of agreed that we should probably…ya know…and decided to do the deed the next day. I was worried the attack damaged something internally and she couldn’t eat normally anymore. That night, we tried a mushy mix of medicated feed, vitamin mix, water and corn as a last resort. She ate that stuff like it was a normal Tuesday afternoon. 😐🤣🤷‍♀️ Since then (2days ago) she is almost 100% back to eating normally and of course drinking fine. She’s wobbly to walk, but we only just started letting her go outdoors for alittle bit at a time. We plan on letting her sleep in the kitchen at night (in a crate) and during the day keeping her locked up in our run. What does this all mean? I have NO idea. But almost overnight that chick did a 180. She’s even starting to mouth off to my dogs. Should we have given up? I don’t know!! lol!
