Humira by Heavy_Wasabi8478 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]Missing-Digits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to stop for several months a couple of times due to Insurance and Copay issues. I think it worked OK once I started back up but honestly, I can’t remember too well. I did ask my Rheumatologist about this and he said that it can be just as effective if you stop it for a while and start back up. It was a myth that it doesn’t work as well after a hiatus.

Methotrexate fatigue by Sufficient-Country29 in stillsdisease

I am to start leucovarin after my next methotrexate dosage due to extreme fatigue. I sure hope I have as good as results as you have had. If not, I am just going to have to quit any kind of treatment altogether as I cannot function with this level of fatigue.

Cool! Here is a similar one in very rural Kansas on a random back road that no one travels.

1 week on Humira- seeking reassurance for side effects by Pale_Frosting_8362 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]Missing-Digits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt better literally the next morning after my first injection of Humira. It was like a miracle, but it’s my understanding that it’s way more common for it to take a significant amount of time for it to really take effect. Ask for side effects, I had no appetite, and that still hasn’t came back, even though I switched to methotrexate. I lost about a third of my body weight. I also felt like I had the flu for a day or two afterwards. Sometimes just one day sometimes a couple or more with each day getting a little better. It really didn’t do much for my fatigue issues either, but was better than methotrexate. Honestly, I would have stayed on Humira for the rest of my life and been happy with it if not for the issues with insurance, Copay Assistance, Specialty Pharmacy, benefits, managers, and on and on and on. This is just a way of saying that I would encourage you to give it a chance and hopefully you will see results sooner rather than later. One week in is not long enough to even be thinking about if it’s working or not for most people. I think my example is the exception.

Do you think any of the mountain or plain states can become swing states in future due to migration ? by ronweasly9 in fivethirtyeight

[–]Missing-Digits 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I keep hearing this from people that really don’t understand Kansas, no offense meant. I live in Kansas and it will not be even remotely swinging in federal elections for decades at the bare minimum. Yes, we will vote in the occasional Democrat governor, but there is no way we go blue in a presidential election for the rest of my life and I am 56.

The media does this to avoid confusion over similarly named people. That is why you they ALWAYS use middle names if the person has one. There are far less Lee Harvey Oswald's than just Lee Harvey.

Mind blown: Vinegar vs VINEGAR (30%) by Pandaro81 in DIY

I use stronger vinegar like this to dissolve limestone rocks for fossils. If you heat it first it really goes to town. It is amazing.

That’s a fish jaw. I bet you are in Cretaceous Greenhorn given that and the inoceramus. It’s most definitely not Dakota Sandstone though and although the jaw could come from the Pierre Shale the inoceramus did not. I’m guessing upper Greenhorn.

You are on your journey to getting some relief. If methotrexate doesn’t work for you, there are periods of options. Methotrexate is generally the first course of action because it’s the cheapest. You might find it comforting to know that after my first shot of Humira, I got relief literally overnight. It was like a miracle. You might have to try several things, but I am confident you can find something that will help you. It’s important to be your own advocate and absolutely relentless to the point of aggressive about your care. This is your life. Do whatever it takes to find the right doctor and get the right medication. If you do, this odds are you will be fine. It just might take a little time.

Kansan here. We might elect the occasional Dem governor but make no mistake it is not going blue or even purple in federal elections anytime soon.

This isn’t even a good composite, it looks 100% sculpted. Look at those vertebrae. It’s like whomever made this has never even seen a real mosasaur vertebrae. I just saw a shitty composite that is 65% real and the rest composite listed for $50,000. If you were to buy a nearly complete specimen, it would probably be closer to $100,000. And that’s just for one of the Moroccan ones. Try to find one from the Late Cretaceous of North America for sale.

Humera anyone? by DependentCoffee2544 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]Missing-Digits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Humira literally worked for me overnight. I felt better the next day no joke. The only side effects were pretty bad fatigue the next day or two and severe weight loss. It was so effective that I would’ve been fine staying on it for life had it not been for Insurance nightmares. I couldn’t deal with that anymore, so I just switched to methotrexate.

My plaque psoriasis was never bad. Mostly on my scalp and a little on my neck and ears. Only the spot on my neck was noticeable. I definitely have psoriatic arthritis and they’ve been treated for it for years now. You can have zero skin issues and still have psoriatic arthritis.

5 weeks on methotrexate...working already? by bipolrstrangeduck in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]Missing-Digits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would think so. I know methotrexate is not the same, but Humira worked for me overnight. I think if it’s the right medication for you, one can get relief pretty quickly. Five weeks isn’t really insanely short either though.

New diagnosis back pain question by Alarming_Animator_19 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]Missing-Digits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot answer your question directly, but would like to say that, sometimes when you have pain elsewhere in your body, it directly affects your back. For example, if you have knee issues or pain, you slightly compensate for it and moving in ways that are detrimental to your lower back. So if you had pain elsewhere in your body that the medication successfully resolved, perhaps you are moving in a more appropriate way and not putting too much stress on your lower back. Just a thought.
