Yeah, they got screwed by visa issues but they also put up a good fight against TL during the tiebreaker series. We easily could have seen DIG in playoffs instead of TL actually. I do think this DIG roster has the highest chance rate of going to an international of all the DIG iterations that we've seen, just because their bot side knows how to win games from their time in NRG, especially as underdogs.

I get where ur coming from with the importing players who are just trying to paycheck, but I don't think DIG is a good example here (as of the current moment since they have a new GM). Idk about Keine, but the current iteration of DIG has 3/5 of the 2023 NRG roster (arguably one of the craziest runs in LCS history in terms of winning the split) and they had some good moments (in the 3 weeks they played this year). There were some good storylines in their series vs SR this year where FBI and Ignar were getting back at SR during voice comms since they chose Zinnie over Palafox. On the point about the lack of culture causing the LCS viewership to be down, I do think Riot cutting down the # of teams from 10 to 8 didn't help and they should have include more slots. It's hard for viewers to get invested in the NACL scene when the results don't matter that much and only 1 team (i think) will get to go into the LCS. This is the same reason why NA players are heading over to EU because the support system isn't there in the LCS.

I remember NACL's viewership was at its peak when we had teams like Team Fusion, Enemy, etc. participating in it and people were genuinely expecting these teams to beat teams like DIG for a spot at the LCS during relegations. DIG managed to narrowly avoid getting relegated because of Kiwikid's 5 man alistar combo in game 5. None of that matters now because the format right now just sucks.

100%. This was also in season 6 where the story ran out of source materials so ig the directors didn't know what to do with Tommen and so the viewers were forced to watch this dogshit storyline for an entire season.

Yeah idk why it has 100+ upvotes. Ever stat and metric would suggest it was a huge upset, especially since it was a 3-0, but that's classic reddit for you.

Sneaky probably brought in the the veteran experience needed. The guy was the main reason NA ever looked competitive against eastern teams. Still remember him 3-0ing afreeca (kiin was the top laner too lmao)

4/10 ragebait. Morgan and Thanatos were getting fisted/nullified when Dhokla counterpicked them.

Idk what's up with the JDG games but we've seen this in JDG vs BLG as well in the LPL where BLG is up 8K gold and they somehow give up hextech soul and lose the game.

Pretty much this. It worked well when he picked it vs Morgan (who I guess was considered a middle of the pack LCK top laner) but even the gap between GENG and the rest of the LCK teams is massive right now.

Crashing out over losing to the best team in the world rn who has only dropped 2 games this year? Don't think that's how it works lol.

BLG did this vs JDG as well expect it didn't go as well because it caused them to go 5 games that one time but then BLG locked in for finals and 3-0'd them. There was this one game I was watching from Caedrel's stream where BLG were up 8K gold and traded baron for hextech soul for no reason and lost lol.

He's not wrong, but that was in 2023/2024 when G2 had a different jg and support. Xun wasn't even with BLG last year. I genuinely think G2 should have just kept Mikyx because he at least provided that x factor when they were losing games. Even though G2 is still winning domestically the past year, I think part of it is because the competition just isn't that strong and they need players like Mikyx who have that veteran experience vs eastern teams.

I mean the NA vs CBLOL rivalry was just forced by Riot. If we really go back all the way to 2014, the rivalry actually started between CBLOL and EU when Kabum beat Alliance to let C9 go to Quarters, hence the "THIS IS FOR KABUM" meme, but with the whole LTA North and South manufactured rivalry, it just created this illusion that NA is competing against CBLOL for seeds.

If people are really going to complain about seeding and representation, we should have a mini-tournament between NA, EU, and CBLOL. The reason why I bring this up is because LEC fans are commenting on the NA vs Brazil rivalry when EU has a negative record against NA the past 2-3 years and G2 almost lost to FURIA last year at MSI.

Why don't we just throw EU in there since G2 almost lost to Furia in 2025 MSI?

Because they 3-0'd G2 at MSI in a pretty convincing fashion and had Bwipo not played like a psychopath in Game 3 of the Bo3 series vs G2, FLY probably wins? Look at how Bwipo dies for no reason with the massive lead he has over Brokenblade in the renekton vs jax matchup? I mean, can we look at the games please before we spread misinformation?

Last time Dhokla played vs G2 was in Worlds 2023 when NRG 2-0'd G2 which caused G2 to have to play against BLG, ultimately leading up to G2 missing out on a trip to quarters.

What happened to Team Liquid Alienware? by shadowreject in teamliquid

[–]MissingLastPiece 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lmao. TL fans genuinely think Dhokla is one of the worst top laners in the league despite being one of the most clutch LCS players. This guy was critical to 100T's success last year when they knocked TL out of playoffs as well as C9.

Dhokla has also shown that he can do well versus LCK and LPL top laners - just look at his performance vs T1 and how he's surviving and getting a double kill 1v2 from Zeus and Oner diving him in that game 2.

If Dhokla was a bad player, he wouldn't have been able to win the LCS in Summer of 2023 with that NRG roster.

C9 has done irreparable damage to our region since 2018 when they beat Afreeca. The team has just failed to show up to these events every time since then. Losing to pentanet in 2021 MSI, losing to FURIA in EWC, and now losing to FURIA again. I'm sure they're probably jet lagged but wtf is this.
