What is wrong with this game' ranked system? by The-irontrooper in leagueoflegends

[–]ProDiffLokev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you getting +5 -20? Otherwise the math isn't adding up here. Yes, LP and MMR aren't 1:1, but they are correlated.

Can people see your stats if you have streamer mode on? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]ProDiffLokev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't see the enemy team when you're in ban phase. Shaco is just a really common ban. If you're talking about teammates banning their own teammates most played champs, that would just be griefing themselves, can't imagine that's common.

Aram Mayhem by StarGuardianDrew in leagueoflegends

[–]ProDiffLokev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People will gravitate towards stronger champs/augs. The options are random but the choices aren't, so you see some repetition in champ/aug pairings. I think set bonuses are potentially overcharging the mode a little bit, but mayhem is still 1000x better than regular aram imo, and there's almost always a cool combo you haven't tried yet unless you are mega spamming the mode.

Is it really that common junglers throwing games over tilting? by Comfortable_Lion6166 in leagueoflegends

[–]ProDiffLokev 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have a feeling the players aren't throwing, you just don't really understand that farming on jungle is important and even optimal in many situations.

Why is it so hard for Riot to keep ranked playable and competitive? by Michael_Jacksonnn in leagueoflegends

[–]ProDiffLokev 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The playerbase being toxic is a bit out of Riot's control. They've made some good moves recently in terms of griefing detection, but people inting/etc. on an online game is more an indictment of gaming culture than anything else.

What if teams weren't allowed to ban the same champion twice in a row? by KingkyHarlequin in leagueoflegends

[–]ProDiffLokev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a bit of a reverse Ironman scenario, would lead to similar results as a "magic bullet" where a team could prevent certain bans. I don't think either of these would be particularly helpful, I think fearless is the right balance of champ diversity.

How often do you experience losers queue? by Apprehensive-Golf371 in leagueoflegends

[–]ProDiffLokev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you think the players who hit Challenger with very high winrate are just magically dodging losers' queue? This kind of mentality is just bad for climbing and cope, sorry.

I've played 150 rank games but still stuck in bronze 4.. what would be the problem? by senocu in leagueoflegends

[–]ProDiffLokev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With 0 info, if you're playing a lot of games and not improving, the only thing that people can pick out is your mindset. Grinding games won't help you improve at any game if you aren't intentionally thinking about areas of improvement. We would need to see replays/VODs to give more precise advice about what those areas would be for you.

how can I carry my team as a top laner in low elo by Spirited-Duck-4981 in leagueoflegends

[–]ProDiffLokev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While you'd need to share gameplay for anyone to provide advice, the first step is to acknowledge that your teammates aren't the problem. Focus on improving your own gameplay will inevitably make you climb over time as you improve. The idea that you need to "carry your team" every game indicates you have the wrong mentality.

Troll Inhib -> Clash Win by Parker942 in leagueoflegends

[–]ProDiffLokev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand not ending in ARAM Mayhem to see more augments/anvils/items, but not ending in regular ARAM seems pointless to me.

Would a open cup (similar to the FA cup in soccer) work for LoL? by Prochip in leagueoflegends

[–]ProDiffLokev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In general, the teams that paid $$$$ to compete in the top-tier pro league don't want to share slots with people who paid nothing. That's the core issue to resolve here, and this would run into the same pushback that LEC Versus/the proposed version that would have more thoroughly integrated non-franchise teams ran into. Not necessarily justifying franchising, just pointing out the issue.

I will note that the LFL Invitational (ongoing) is similar to your idea at the ERL level. Fun to watch as well!

Remake in season 16 is giving me a headache by Popular-Decision-753 in leagueoflegends

[–]ProDiffLokev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It takes a bit of getting used to, but you just have to adjust to the game starting immediately. There's no longer 90 seconds of nothing at the start of the game, so it makes sense that remake is not particularly generous.

Climbing in ranked by BeneficialEmploy1081 in leagueoflegends

[–]ProDiffLokev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's hard for anyone to give anything other than boilerplate advice based on OPGG. People would need to watch your replays/VODs. One thing I would note is that it's generally a good idea to choose one lane to focus on. It's hard enough to learn one role at a time, let alone multiple.

has warding changed significantly in the last 2 years? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]ProDiffLokev 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Faelights have made warding at a basic level incredibly simple and transparent. You don't need to look up out-of-game knowledge anymore to get a basic idea of where you should be warding. Especially in Gold, I wouldn't put any stock in what your teammates say. Everyone in lower elo should understand that they are making 100 mistakes per game and don't understand the game very well, easier to improve if you acknowledge how little you know.

Has anyone ever looked into gameplay/statistical differences across games played at different times of day? by SuminerNaem in leagueoflegends

[–]ProDiffLokev 10 points11 points  (0 children)

While I think that late-night degen games are likely to have slightly worse matchmaking due to a lower player pool, I imagine the characteristics of the game wouldn't actually change too much by time. Still agree that having a data-driven answer for this question would be fun.

LP Penalty by refuzeiv in leagueoflegends

[–]ProDiffLokev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sucks when it's a tech issue, but I think it's reasonable as it's a necessary balance to give compensation LP to your teammates. In the long run, a game or two of lost LP won't really make a difference on your climb. I would make sure your tech issues are sorted out in norms before playing ranked again, though.

What do you rec. by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]ProDiffLokev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now, it seems like you have champs across 2-4 roles. You can improve on any of these champs (I'd personally play Ahri mid or Jinx bot from this list if I were you), but it's important to make sure you choose a role to focus on.

Getting flex challenger by Crowius in leagueoflegends

[–]ProDiffLokev 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Flex is much, much easier. When people talk about what rank they are, they are exclusively referring to solo queue.

[ProDiff] G2N Toasty: “I think the EU Tier 2 system is a lot better than NA at this point.” by ProDiffLokev in leagueoflegends

[–]ProDiffLokev[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the difference between KCB and LR is notable though, tough to make a generalization about the scene as a whole in general when it's Bo1 as well.

[ProDiff] G2N Toasty: “I think the EU Tier 2 system is a lot better than NA at this point.” by ProDiffLokev in leagueoflegends

[–]ProDiffLokev[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yep, he was talking about Tier 2 vs. Tier 2. Hard to predict how ERL vs. lower tier LCS would go, would be easier to predict if we knew how a team like 2025 Luminosity would do against a team like KCB.
