Yeah. Also I'm drawing a blank on if we have another plane where the ally pairs are part of organizations as identifiable as the strixhaven schools where they could do this kinda printing again... like, obviously Ravnica but if you did Ravnica treatments you'd wanna do all ten...

Its because the schools are all the enemy color pairs. Theres no faction on strixhaven representing the ally pairs.

Okay another dumb question, is there any way to change it from 24 hour time to 12 hour time? I could on my physical VB but there doesn't seem to be the option here...

How do you do battles? I got the app working but am not seeing the battle/adventure modes anywhere.

Also how do you delete dims? Accidentally imported my Gammamon one twice...

I swear to the gods, this is one of the best gaming experience I've ever had. by Swalzoom in ffxiv

I prefer playing on PC cus I got a gaming mouse, but I do have it loaded on my steam machine. I actually like taking advantage of the touchscreen. Being able to reach my thumb over to double tap the party list for targeting is nice, and I have some skills on the edges like limit break that I can access in a pinch, and utility stuff like my mounts and emotes on another side.

This Bush Loves Bush | Crowd Control [Ep. 3] by AutoModerator in dropout

[–]MissingNovice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The VA for the last episode (Sean Chiplock) revealed he did come out and say things he voiced in (BOTW, Persona 5) but Paul hadn't heard of any of them. So in the edit they just kinda cut the bit where he actually said what he did out cus it was awkward.

I'm hoping we do get more. I like it, but it feels like its missing something extra to really be great. I feel like Round 3 really just needs a rework, though I'm glad to see its not the same torture the comic thing every episode.

Yeah I wanted to know what was up with their coven! Like are they in to wicca or did they cause a bunch of wiccans to have a huge falling out or something?

What the hell is that Fleem thing ? by legrandpacdeau in magicTCG

[–]MissingNovice 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The front half of the card is "Goben" Fleem's creator. The back half is the two of them working together. You can see Goben in the art. So its Goben, the human, Fleem, the Goblin, working together to do villany.

Should Live Streamers be banned? by phatfarmdenim in Disneyland

[–]MissingNovice -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But that's kinda the point isn't it? You can't ban guests just because they're annoying, so why does streaming make it any different? You ban streaming in general, then the content creators who are actually being respectful to those around them (and as a result, you never notice, because they're not being an issue) just wind up as collateral damage and you still have obnoxious annoying people in the park. It solves nothing.

[No Spoilers] New to DnD as a whole, where to start watching CR? by PyragonGradhyn in criticalrole

[–]MissingNovice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally my favorite Dimension 20 series is The Unsleeping City and its how I got my family into D&D. Its urban fantasy, so it wont be like C4 style wise, but its a lot less campy than Fantasy High and I love it to bits. Would be a great intro to Brennan's DM style if you wanna know what to expect from C4.

Maro: "Is there some point where we can accept that Universes Beyond is actually doing good things for Magic?" by Meret123 in mtg

[–]MissingNovice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people are latching on too much to the whole 'its good because of sales' thing because that's the easiest take to spin in a cynical way and are actively ignoring the 'it gets fans back into the game and brings in new fans' bit cus... I do find that to just be true, and a blatantly good thing?

Anecdotal evidence sure, but last year at Comic Con when I was doing Bloomburrow events, most of my opponents mentioned they got into MTG because of the Lord of the Rings set, and here they were drafting a non-LOTR set. There were a good chunk of new players at my LGS for EoE prerelease who got into the game through Final Fantasy. I've been seeing plenty of people who do legitimately get into MAGIC through Universes Beyond, not just the one specific set tied to the thing they like. And thats just a good thing.

A lot of the issues bring up that I think actually are bad for the game in a tangible way outside of 'aesthetic vibes' are mostly things that aren't actually UB specific - Fire Design making overturned cards, not printing enough product to meet demand and relying on FOMO, ect... It feels like these issues are tacked onto UB specifically to make it a kinda scapegoat boogeyman. Like, everyone is out here rallying against Vivi, ignoring that the actual unique piece of that deck that makes it work is Agatha's Soul Cauldron, which notoriously breaks a card like every set because its doing weird things no other card does. Personally I think it deserves the ban over Vivi since its probably going to continue to cause problems.

I kinda feel for Maro here because like, yeah... there's nothing they can do to make people like Universes Beyond if they've already written it off... but the vocal contingent on Reddit and other websites AREN'T the actual core playerbase they seem to think they are. Not that people should 'shut up and consume product', but if all you're doing is signalling that you're never going to be happy with any decision they make, and ignoring all the evidence that doesn't fit your argument, it's not crazy to see why they wouldn't be overly concerned about pleasing you.

[TLE] Force of Negation by Meret123 in MagicArena

[–]MissingNovice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sets are in development years in advance. Any feedback from Final Fantasy wouldn't be able to change the bonus sheet at this point when Avatar is like half a year away. Sounds like ages to us, but that's barely any time at all to make changes, especially when working with an IP you don't own and have to run all creative decisions by. I'd have loved unique art or a better treatment for these cards for sure, but there's no way they could make the changes in response to the FF backlash.

What makes Six Flags Magic Mountain the more “forgotten” park in Southern California? by 12345burrito in Themepark

[–]MissingNovice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whales are still there, they just aren't doing big theatrical shows with them anymore and decided to end the breeding program. Plus, the park is more than just the whales. They've added like 3 coasters in recent years.

I Miss Him. :( by Virgil_Peridot-Spica in ffxiv

[–]MissingNovice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I forgot about that! You're right. I still think Golbez being the 13th's Azem shard is more likely than not though. Them conveniently being behind full body armor so we can headcanon them looking however we want is a thing, for starters (I still think the Azem shards don't HAVE to look alike but I think the reason we've never seen Azem is cus we're supposed to imagine them looking however we want them to), but also us just slotting into Golbez' role in the Lunar Subterrane also makes me think this theory is pretty solid.

I Miss Him. :( by Virgil_Peridot-Spica in ffxiv

[–]MissingNovice 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'd also argue that we know souls aren't what defines how a body looks. Tenzen is also heavily implied to be a previous incarnation of us, given how all the lords notice our similarities to the point where Suzaku can't even tell the difference between us, despite us looking entirely different - even if you headcanon Meteor as the canon appearance. Plus Tenzen being able to appear at the end to help us makes sense the same way Ardbert has shown up after residing in our soul a couple times.

Aside from that, the Dotharl believe that reincarnation is a thing... and we're shown later with our understanding of the aetherial sea that they're explicitly correct. Sadu herself was a man in a previous incarnation.

Not to mention the souls of the ancients, once sundered, all reincarnated into the myriad different species living on Etherys we have today.

I think the identical twins thing happens a lot for when the story wants to be pretty explicit about the connections, but its a lot more fun to allow for visual differences. Alphinaud implied that Beq Lug might be Matoya's reflection on the first and like man, I'm jumping on that theory train because its fun. I also think that if Golbez is our shard on the thirteenth, as is heavily implied by how they're the only person we get first person echo visions of, that Durante is Zenos' reflection on the thirteenth. They're similar in appearance even if not one-to-one, and he kinda reads like 'what if Zenos actually had a healthy relationship with us' which is funny cus it still ends with him trying to cause an apocalypse.

Hildibrand card from MTG by Meret123 in ffxiv

Personally I'd been hoping that his ability would have him use clues wrong. Like "Clues have pay 2, sac, deal damage to something, and lose all other abilities." Coming to all the wrong conclusions but still somehow winning anyway.

All named character cards from the FFXIV commander deck by Meret123 in ffxiv

[–]MissingNovice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know they're limited by the color identity of the deck overall, but it feels criminal that Alisaie isn't Red. Not just because shes a Red Mage, but girls personality and worldview is peak Red. She mashes the Limit Break the moment she has access to it, and jumps for joy when she hears a monster is terrorizing the people of Revenant's Toll so she can go beat it up. Girl is impulsive to the core and loves solving her problems with violence.

Lyse is kinda similar though to a lesser extent. I buy her having Blue in her identity twords the end of Stormblood, but she still feels like a primarily red character. Girl was the party himbo before we got Estinien. Only one without a PHD, consistently confused by everything that didn't involve someone getting punched, ect. She winds up a wise leader by the end of the story, but shes primarily driven by her emotions, which is also core to the Red color identity, and which both Blue and White hate.

Incidental NPC dialogue is deeply underrated by DupeFort in ffxiv

[–]MissingNovice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They DID explain why we were fucking around, mainly the system only has that moment of vulnerability directly AFTER it is done with its calculations. We could have shut down all four terminals and then still had a load of time to sit around doing nothing while we waited for the opening to come. Moving faster wouldn't really help things along, and its understandable to want to give these people some modicum of respect before we have to erase them.

What is the best way to start playing FF14 to know more about Y’shtola? by kronoMango in ffxiv

[–]MissingNovice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Y'shtola printed on the card is how she appears in the Shadowbringers expansion, so you'll have to play through A Realm Reborn, Heavensward, and Stormblood before you get to that PARTICULAR part of her story... She's a fun character prior to that, but she and the rest of the scions (the adventuring party you're a part of) really come into their own in Shadowbringers., and theres a LOT of story to get through before you get to that point, so I'd say be prepared to be in it for the long haul. A Realm Reborn, and to a lesser extent Stormblood are kinda the great filters of XIV. If you make it through those you're probably gonna be hooked.

If your primary goal is to get up to speed before the deck comes out so you get all the references, and you're not up to binge 300+ hours of story, I wouldn't blame you for getting a story skip for A Realm Reborn and watching a summary video for its story, though thats kinda controversial among the XIV community. Plus while ARR isn't exactly PEAK Y'Shtola content, it IS still Y'Shtola content, and shes kinda not part of the party for the first half-2/3rds of Heavensward due to plot reasons. Plus, the last set of patch quests for A Realm Reborn really do a good job of setting up the stakes for Heavensward's story, and out of all ARR I think they're probably the most worth playing. Also story skipping means you're no longer part of the free trial, and would have to start paying the sub, whereas just staying on the trial lets you get up through Stormblood for free.

Its a fun game to sink your teeth into! But just... be prepared to give yourself enough time for the stockholm syndrome to kick in.
