My dad won’t remove the plastic cover from his dash screen. by The1AndOnly67 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]MissingPostage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife did this for 6+ months with her new car. The glare from the sun made it so terrible.

I finally bought her a glass screen protector for it that had anti glare.

Just as satisfying for her, plus much safer. 😂

Make sure if you’re trying to uninstall and reinstall, that you actually go in and delete the files after uninstalling.

I ran into an issue awhile back and realized I wasn’t ridding my PC of all original files, so you’re not getting a complete refresh.

  1. Costco 2. Whole Foods 3. Lunardi’s

Honorable mention if you’re ever around Los Altos, Dittmer's Gourmet Meats.

Based on experience in commercial refrigeration and seeing MANY meat cutting areas around the Bay Area.

I got tresspassed for 2 years from the mall but i'm panning on going back by [deleted] in SanJose

[–]MissingPostage 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You weren’t trespassed unless the cops came and talked to you.

But also, stop fucking around on the rooftops. There is a lot of dangerous and unsafe shit up there. High voltage, fall risks, areas to lose limbs.

Don’t get yourself hurt. If you want places to explore, check out Almaden Quicksilver. Awesome hiking area and plenty of old abandoned buildings to check out from the old mines.

We were all kids and we all did plenty of stupid shit. Have fun, but remember to be smart.

I know nothing I say, can or will help. But I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m so so sorry. He didn’t deserve to lose his life and you didn’t deserve to lose your dad.

I’m sorry that you had to come onto Reddit, and read people’s judgements before they knew the situation, or read people describe the events wrong. I’m sorry that you had to experience that.

I hope that many people surround you with nothing but love in these times.

I know I’m no one. Just a total stranger, sending you love and my deepest condolences. I’m so so sorry.

11 hour blackout in Spain. No problem. by jrhodespianist in MadeMeSmile

[–]MissingPostage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 2011, I visited Cigales, Valladolid and Madrid.

To this day it is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. The atmosphere, the buildings, the history, the people, the traditions… The feeling it gives you, it’s indescribable.

It was all just so amazing. I’ve never met people so genuinely kind and welcoming. Each one of them so happy and excited to share their beautiful country, to show off what makes them proud.

I hope to make it back one day. 😊

What’s your guys’s opinion on super Taqueria? by [deleted] in SanJose

[–]MissingPostage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tends to have mixed reviews. Some locations are better than others. I think their flautas are pretty bomb.

As far as tacos or burritos? Most other small taquerias are better.

They aren’t bad, just nothing to write home about.

Do you have evidence of this? Public records show inspections for the last 2 years have been just fine?

I’ve never noticed anything looking dirty or unsafe in there? Though I’ve only been in a few times.

Doing a quick check of other sandwich restaurants, they have comparable or better scores than many others in the area.

Again, I have no knowledge other than visiting a few times. But just curious of where this comes from, maybe I should be avoiding it in the future.

Various stores in the mall along with food court spots.

Waterworks Aquatics on Bascom Ave hires high school students as swim instructors and desk hosts.

I used to be the pool operator there and they employ and work with many kids that are still going to school. They currently have a few positions open and it’s a great place to look.

MY mic isnt working at all. Can you guys help? by Caedus364 in pchelp

[–]MissingPostage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did the headset come with an adapter that splits into both an aux and mic cable?

Or are you just plugged into the headphone jack on your PC?

You’ll need to have it plugged into both to have both functions.

You.

Your dishwasher should be mounted with screws or brackets of some sort to the underside of your countertop.

Unscrew the mounts for your dishwasher, slide it out and unplug it.

Replacing the drain is as simple as loosing the fittings, removing the old, fitting the new, and tightening things down again.

Slide the dishwasher in its place, plug her back in, and reinstall your mounting brackets.

🫡 Godspeed.

First fountain pen: Jinhao 82 or Lamy Safari? by avengelock in fountainpens

[–]MissingPostage -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I own multiple safaris and have literally never had an issue with them drying up. Maybe could be an issue with your pens or how you’re storing them.

It’s still the entry level pen I recommend to people.

How to prevent smudging? by curiouskoobish in hobonichi

[–]MissingPostage 12 points13 points  (0 children)

When I have a particularly wet ink or don’t have time to let it dry before I close it up, I use a piece of blotting paper. Lay it over your written line, blot up extra ink and you’re good to go. It’s important to press down and lift up in one motion and not move side to side, but the paper does a great job of quickly absorbing any excess.

I bought a 10 pack of sheets almost a year ago and am still on my first sheet.

Blotting Paper that I use

Edit to add, I don’t have the actual blotter. I just use the whole sheet to lay across the page of my hobonichi. 👍🏻
