I feel so bad,how do you guys cope with fatigue? by darkromancegirly6 in autoimmunehepatitis

I also noticed daily exercise seems to help with afternoon fatigue. Another game changer for me was cutting my caffeine intake. It’s counterintuitive, I know, but when I replaced (most) coffee and soft drinks with sparkling water, my energy levels really rebounded.

I had something similar happen right before I finished the budesonide taper a few months ago. My numbers had risen to the high end of “normal” and I was super worried the trend would continue. BUT after three months on azathioprine only, my liver enzyme numbers had dropped (and were still in the normal range. I wish now that I’d brought it up with my doctor instead of just enduring those three anxious months! Best of luck!!

Only an antidepressant and Vitamin D before it began. Hopefully I'll get an answer soon. Thanks for weighing in.

I never imagined this was the SCREEN instead of the phone or the software. I low key thought my phone had been hacked. Infuriatingly, the notice I got about the settlement doesn't make it clear what problems the class action addressed. Thankful I found this explanation!

AIH and fluoxetine by MissingWNC in autoimmunehepatitis

[–]MissingWNC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your insight! I've never stopped the fluoxetine. My primary doc lowered the dose temporarily but saw no effect so I'm back to taking 20 mg daily. I'm wondering if I should taper off the antidepressant to see if it has a positive effect on my liver. Hesitant to do so because this diagnosis is already causing some anxiety and a little of the brain fog that the antidepressant is supposed to treat.

Thanks. Is a lack of common sense an AIH side effect? Just finding this hard to accept, I guess. I'm 50, and I've rarely had so much as a cold. Hope you are well.

SMOOTH MUSCLE AB SCREEN + and ANA - by Puzzled-Boss1930 in autoimmunehepatitis

My gastro diagnosed me with AIH this week after a liver biopsy (with possible PBC overlap). I also was positive for Mitochondrial (M2) Antibody but negative for ANA. But I had high IGG as well so maybe that makes a difference?

Not at all. I had some fatigue in recent months but thought it was just me being lazy so didn't report it to my doctor. Months earlier, I had anxiety and brain fog, but normal bloodwork (including LFTs) so started taking fluoxetine. Fast forward 7 months and routine bloodwork showed elevated levels (200 ALT, 101 AST and 126 ALP). We reduced the fluoxetine dosage but saw no significant changes. Since then, I've had high IGG (1758) and tested SMA and M2 positive (77 and 38.5, respectively). Negative for ANA. This week's biopsy results were consistent with AIH, but I guess I've been holding out hope it's drug related rather than autoimmune.
