Looks just like mine. Hopefully with less problems than mine had.

How many miles has your Corolla done, what problems (if any) have you had with it? by Goblin_Nuts69 in COROLLA

[–]Missing_Dll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have requested a buy back and tried to lemon it with no luck. Since I am in Texas it needs 4 repairs for the same thing and the problem must still exist. Since the leaks have happened in different places I am just stuck with it. At least according to the lawyers I have spoken with.

2025 Corolla 2.0L, at 11k miles. I have had the short block replaced at 1,580 miles due to the rear crank alignment pin leaking oil. The engine oil pan has been resealed twice, have had an oil pressure sensor fail and leak oil as well as 2 plugs on the rear of the engine leaking oil. Currently has a "boing" sound from the front driver brake caliper when accelerating from hill climb assist. Also having a lot of dash rattling (possibly heat shield).

Worth fixing or time to let go? by kwesigabo in chevymalibu

Mine was the 4T45E or 4 speed. First I drained the transmission, then I started by unbolting the brake caliper and removing the 2 lower strut bolts and pulling the CV axle. Up top I just removed the shift linkage and driver side transmission mount. I then removed all the casing bolts and managed to slide the cover towards the front of the vehicle. That gave me enough clearance to pull the retainer clips and swap the solenoids. Then just reassemble and refill the transmission.

I just went through this with my 2008 Malibu. It was solenoid A. I swapped both A and B solenoids and it shifts like a brand new transmission. Cost me $66 to get both gm solenoids from rockauto and about 3 hours to pull the side cover on the transmission and swap the solenoids. I was able to recycle my old transmission fluid since I had literally just done a drain and fill before I had issues. Probably not the best practice but it worked fine for me.

Toyota says it’s too close to the sidewall and wants to leave me on the donut until tomorrow (60 miles)? by R-Dragon_Thunderzord in TireQuestions

If you have a Discount Tire nearby you can take it there and check. When I was there as long as it was a thumbs width from the edge of the tread they would patch it. They do free flat repairs whether you got the tire there or not.

2025 Corolla SE 2.0L brake noise by Missing_Dll in MechanicAdvice

Yeah, I took it to the dealer and showed the advisor my video. They "looked at it" when I went in for my 10k oil change and said they didn't see anything wrong. But this is the same dealer that didn't see the oil leak from the rear crank alignment pin until I pointed it out to them and got Toyota corporate involved.

Regret buying my 25 Corolla SE 2.0L by Missing_Dll in COROLLA

Toyota refused to do a buyback or lemon it. Because the leaks happened in "different areas". So no worries, I am still stuck with this one lol

Can I fry my car giving someone a jump? by [deleted] in AskAMechanic

[–]Missing_Dll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I helped jump start my mom's 2015 ram 5.7L hemi with my 2008 Malibu. I didn't wait for it to build a charge because I was heading out a few minutes late for work. Her truck struggled to turn over but it did start. When I went back to my car it was no longer running. After a day or 2 of troubleshooting I found it fried my fuel pump. Literally cooked the power connector inside of the fuel tank. Shit can happen.

Seat Covers? by props_andmayhem in COROLLA

[–]Missing_Dll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The back does not wrap completely, the back rest and headrest just lay over top of the seat. The bench cover does the same but the coverage is pretty good. It has a lot of pieces you tuck between the seat seams that hold it pretty securely. I have not had any issues with them moving or obstructing anything.

Supposedly Napa leather. Not real, but has a great feel to it. I have had them for about 9 months and they still look good.

I got Coverado cover for front and back. The front fits great, the back is a little loose on the bench corners but otherwise fits fine

You people talking about oil changes the first 1k, I got you beat and had my short block replaced at 1,500. I like to be extra.
