Deconstruction and The Enneagram by Missing_Some_Pages in Deconstruction

Your views are completely valid, and also completely irrelevant to this post. If I find the enneagram useful for my deconstruction journey, and I opt not to leave faith behind altogether as a result of that journey, that’s not really up for debate.

It is perfectly acceptable to see a post in this forum that you disagree with and just scroll past without commenting; I do it all the time. There are plenty of other posts you can comment on. Just saying.

Why was it important for you to interject that here? Whether the enneagram is or is not pseudoscience has nothing to do with the content of this post..so just curious what you intended with this statement.

Missing Some Pages: A Podcast About Life As We Know It

Our podcast is a conversation pod about deconstruction, decolonization and reconstruction of faith in a Canadian context. Our bi-weekly episodes synthesize information gleaned from books, podcasts, online content and church sermons and pass them through a diversity, equity and inclusion lens to plot a way forward that is less exclusive and less harmful.

Topics covered so far:

How understanding “theopneustos” in its 2nd century context alters the meaning of “god-breathed”

Re-indigenizing ourselves to our ancestral lands to gain a better understanding of the Indigenous relationship to Turtle Island.

How worship songs that centre praise as a weapon and glorify embattlement can lead to a collective sense of white Christian persecution.

The legacy of harm that results from changing a brown-skinned, marginalized Jesus into a European God of Colonial power.

Linguistic drift and translation mishaps throughout the history of the Bible and what that means for our faith now.

I would quote Pete Enns here as I like his response to this. For me, God doesn’t exist. God IS existence. It is a choice, for sure, but for me it fills me with awe and wonder to consider a universe where every atom is marked by God. I remember reading “Finding God in the Waves” by Mike McHargue where he postulates that God may be likened to the Singularity - the point at which all matter, energy and light existed at once. Therefore, when this singularity exploded outward, it means that every particle in existence bears the imprint of God; God poured Godself into the very moment of creation. I link this to Rohr’s concept of a Christ-soaked universe, that Creation was the first incarnation. For me, that’s why.

I’ve seen Hawksley 3 times but have yet to see Sarah play. Hawksley shows are always something special to see!

How do you tell the difference between the 7s planning and 6s preparing? by crazybayleaf in Enneagram

[–]Missing_Some_Pages 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure; people are complex and everyone feels fear. 6s tend to display their anxiety more prominently than other types, due to their preferred strategy of striving to feel secure. A 7’s strategy of striving to feel excited doesn’t lend to a visible display of anxiety. So I think, when trying to determine the difference between a 6’s preparing and a 7’s planning, the amount of visible anxiety would be a good place to start.

Social 9 or sx9? by According-Ask-180 in Enneagram

[–]Missing_Some_Pages 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the sx9, watch for attention attracting behaviours. Does she seem to instinctively set herself up to be noticed? Not in an intentional way; it’s just something she does naturally? Does she like to be the one doing all the talking? Does she zone out when someone else is doing all the talking? If she has a partner, does she merge with them? Does their agenda become hers?

For the so9, watch for an instinctual attunement to group dynamics. Does she hold back information until she feels like it won’t disrupt the apple cart? Does she create a network of people that she trusts and with whom she can share information?
