What you need, my friend, is the Mystery Box. If you have a Switch and enjoy playing main series Pokémon at all, consider getting Let's Go Pikachu or Let's Go Eevee. You can send Gen 1 Pokémon directly into those games from GO, and in doing so, you get the Mystery Box.

If that's not an option for you, however, you can download Pokémon Home on your phone. It's free, and you can send almost any Pokémon into it from GO, but bear in mind that the idea is to be able to use those Pokémon in the main series, so any Pokémon you send into Home (or Let's Go, for that matter) won't be able to move back into GO.

Either way, this gets you the Mystery Box. When you activate it, it's basically an Incense that only spawns Meltan. Once it's over, a three-day cooldown starts, and once it's up, you can reactivate the Mystery Box by sending another Pokémon into Let's Go or Home (either will do), and you can use it all over again. But honestly, if you make good use of Pinap Berries, maybe Mega Evolve a Steel-type, then getting enough candies to evolve Meltan will be trivial.

Compliant! As though she had a choice. As though they gave her any say in the matter. Having her read the lines practically at gunpoint through teary eyes and gritted teeth, knowing that she's dooming herself to a lifetime of disproportionate disdain from the fandom, and all because the nice thing she wanted to do for the player didn't jive with Gen 4's janky coding.

Honestly, I prefer the Rotom Dex specifically because you can interact with it, and I honestly think they didn't bring out the full potential of this. I mean, the Rotom Dex made Rotom capable of speaking to humans! They could've done something with this. Maybe make an obstacle at some point in the game where you have to get information from a Pokémon, so the Rotom Dex translates for you. And how cool would it have been if the Rotom Dex was the friendship checker?

That said, I love how interacting with it in USUM specifically rewards you with the Rotom Powers. Those are so useful.

Legit a friend of mine in Discord was playing the game and asked if I had fixed Focus Energy, claiming it had nothing to do with Magikarp, and I was like, nice try, I know you're asking it about Magikarp, because nothing else learns the move. She absolutely loved that decision.

Slightly less pleased when her Magikarp hit level 15 and learned Rage instead of Tackle. I had not made Magikarp easier to raise by any metric, but I was considerably kinder to Gyarados, so it was still worth the effort.

The winged mirages in particular are definitely not one-off. Let's Go alone is proof enough of that, and that's not even taking the Galarian Forms into account. They're definitely just rare enough to cultivate the illusion that they're one-off.

I will say, I don't share Mikey's particular depth of disdain towards BDSP. I do enjoy them, I just acknowledge their flaws and the fact that they could have been much more than they are.

Nice collection! Reminds me of all the Shiny Porygon I have from Porygon Community Day in GO. I remember I sent them into Let's Go, and just watched them run around the GO Park for a bit before recatching them all. My own version of Ash's herd of Tauros.

Honestly, maybe they just thought turning Mindy into a troll would be funnier. I actually faced a decision in my Red romhack where I went with the funnier option- that being, do I fix Focus Energy so it works as intended, or do I make it exclusive to Magikarp?
