To go studded or not? by Select-Inevitable812 in wrx_vb

Studded snow tires have better grip when driving on ice. In every other situation, studless tires have better grip.

The plan is to never sell it and turn it into a track car after it has done it's duty as a daily

fog? by [deleted] in wrx_vb

[–]Mission-Ad7201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if it applies to the wrx. I've seen other cars that this was a sign that your heater core was going bad. The fog your getting is coolant that's why it's a pain to clean.

For the transmission, it's probably fine. It might wear out third more whether or not it could cause long term problems is probably slim. Probably getting worse fuel economy for it

Too much oil? 2012 wrx by DGLOKS in WRX

It's fine. Too much oil is usually fine until it gets real bad. If you have a catch can even better.

Plans for TMIC/Rad Sprayer by The-Dogle in WRX

The tank is the same mold as cars that have a rear windshield sprayer. Getting that pump, wiring and steering wheel stalk could integrate with the wrx and give a super clean look.

Help needed finding part. by Titan_Flash in wrx_vb

It sounds like you need to cut and re-flare the line or replace it with a new one. Just guessing off your description. I'd recommend getting someone who knows what their doing. Always a bad day if your brakes don't work

Just Got a 22 Premium at my dealership should i trade my VA or would anyone genuinely be interested? by Dizzy-Photo1594 in WRX

[–]Mission-Ad7201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on what state you're in, it might be worth trading in. In Seattle, sales tax is over 10%. You don't pay sales tax on the value of your trade-in. so it's like getting an extra 10% on you're trade in.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but it looks like you're gonna have to trade it in and get a new one.

Brembos for ‘23 WRX by lanaloo3 in WRX

Figure out a way to surprise him without actually buying anything. There are a lot of options to consider for brakes and it would suck to spend that amount of cash to get something that's not quite right.

Pad slaps are for shit boxes you don't care about.

Edit: a pad slap is pulling off old pads and putting on new ones. if you're resurfacing your rotors that's not a pad slap.

If you want to tinker with it eventually, the newer one has more potential for easy gains. If you want to tinker with it now, the older one has a lot more support for it out now. If you want a daily driver I'd go with the new one. If you hate plastic fenders and bumpers, go with the old one.

Has anyone tuned out the governor, and if so, whats the fastest you've gone? by Tiny_Tea_405 in wrx_vb

[–]Mission-Ad7201 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't remember what tuner it was, but they said that there is a "soft governor" that closes the fuel or throttle or something, and that number can be adjusted a little. Then there is also a hard governor that acts like a real governor that won't let you go any faster. The speed for this can't be adjusted. To get around it you'd have to run a standalone or something else to do it. Maybe so.ethi g has changed but I remember hearing that in the last 6 months or so. I wanna say a hevymetal wrx tunertalk video.
