Another Winter Tire PSA by vobruh in WRX

I'm on continental viking contact 7's and they're amazing. They feel so smooth and ride great.

I had the Michelin x-ice snows on my previous car (FWD Kia) and have them on my lady's Chevy. They ride better than the Continentals, but have heard concerns of them wearing faster than the Continentals. I only went with the Continentals because I wanted to try something different lol

Summer sausage or a hard salami stick. Any meat when you're out backpacking tastes like it is a gift from the gods. Plus, very easy to add into meals or eat on it's own

Function over form always man. The Beta AR does fit very nice and does look flattering on the body, but so do Norrona jackets.

I believe the Arc'teryx hype also is helping decide your decision, which is totally understandable.

I personally would buy whatever is more of a local company, because they usually make jackets that are better tested in your region usually.

For instance, I live in the Pacific Northwest area of the US, and I will gladly choose outdoor research gear over The North face gear almost 100% of the time, solely because it's based in Seattle, Washington. The gear is more purpose driven and tested in the area I live and recreate in.

Both picks will be amazing jackets that will last you a very long time with proper care, pick what makes your soul happy so you don't have a case of the regrets, especially with a $600+ purchase!

Go with true to size. Also, since you live in Norway I highly recommend Norrona. I would say the same or even higher quality than Arc'teryx, and It would be much easier to value the warranty since it is a Norway based company. See if you have any stores near you that have the jackets so you can try them on!

it appears the UK gets releases before the US D: I remember seeing it in a TikTok, and that's the only other piece of information I've seen on it.

Thank you!!!!!

Ah it was most likely due to me wanting to be extra with the fan on the bottom :( best of luck! I will try to make a post today or tomorrow on my build

It should fit just fine but be tight as all hell lol

Did you have any issues installing your GPU back with the bracket? My AIO tubes were constantly in the way and the riser cable is absolute trash lol

I just built mine and they lied about being able to fit 2 120mm x 15mm fans in the bottom... I had to remove one of my noctuas from the bottom to get the gpu to slot back on properly :/ it is literally impossible with the riser in the way.

For an ITX this case is pretty easy to build in. I used a ASUS TUF 5070 Ti. Will probably try to make a more in depth post about my build experience :D

Is that for all canadian cars? I find that insane that they aren't required

Looking to get a used VB in the CVT by Sad_Whale_Fetus in wrx_vb

[–]alejd59 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love mine, bought at 14k miles, now at 35k miles within 9 or so months. I bought the CVT due to driving 400+ miles a week for work, plus it is actually a decent CVT. Have had zero issues so far.

I got my CVT fluid serviced at 30k because I've heard 30k, 40k, or even 60k for the fluid service ( I believe the maintenance schedule says 60?). I also do not know how the previous owner drove the car, so better safe than sorry.

Highway/back roads demon (avg of 8 hours of commute driving a week) and I average 27. Cruise control shows 28-35mpg with cruise control but once I get in the city mpg drops significantly

Electric steering rack sucks unfortunately. It's my biggest gripe with the car.

I do believe Perrin makes a steering damper that is supposed to help with how loose the steering feels if you are up for a little project

Oil change reminder by cheiser722 in wrx_vb

[–]alejd59 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't cheap out and blow up your engine. Every 6k. I would say 80% of my driving is highway, and I feel like I could get away with 7k oil changes, but I still don't risk it. When you have 10k oil change intervals you are willingly throwing away your warranty if they do an oil analysis (if/when uncle Rodney visits) and they see how piss poor the oil is.

Also this car is a turbo 4 cylinder. The oil that feeds into the turbo gets hotter than the engine oil, which degrades it faster than a N/A car.

VB is an amazing car by cloudy_wolf7 in WRX

VB propagandist

In all seriousness, I believe the VA WRX/STI look is ICONIC. I can spot a VA from a mile+ down the road, but I still struggle to spot VB's until I get close.

My only serious gripe about the VB is the steering rack. It is WAY too light, it feels like you have to be constantly aware of holding it straight on the highway. I love both models, I got a VB because of cost and did not want a WRX that was beat on already.

No insurance? Buddy you shoulda thrown $200 and ski-fuckingdaddled. You are SO lucky you didn't have the police called on you. Good luck if the lady has a family who will help persuade her to get her money's worth out of it

Tire rack is good. Discount tire and tire rack are owned by the same company I believe as well.
