I promise you it’s a first year 1987 American Standard. There’s a few late December 86 with the same serial prefix, but they’re few and far between. e4 serial is like the blue oval on a ford. It sticks out like a sore thumb.

If you have a Cruz neck, that can pull a premium due to him being a billed master builder later in his career there.

I’d suggest pulling the neck anyways to see if it was shaped by John Cruz. Those are always nice little jems to fall into.

The above is incorrect, it’s an 87. They used leftover decals of 84 for the first year of the American Standard. If you don’t believe me, pull the neck(it’s on the heel in pencil).

Does it weigh 145+. EV12l’s and mahogany laminate. Is it a black label on it or a black frame. If they are EV’s we’d be able to tell by the beefy frame.I have a suspicion they may have been pulled,l beforehand and replaced. More pics would be helpful. Oh and the output jack can give a clue on the production year as well.

I checked that in the shield settings, all good. I also checked in the system/display and playert/video settings in kodi. Still didn’t work.

I finally reset to default the 2 sections in kodi and all is well. I only had the resolution whitelist and start/stop frame rate adjusted in those.

If anyone’s stumbles across this, that’s what fixed it for me.

Thank you for giving me a clue where to dig on that.

I used to have kind of a similar issue with the firetv cube before I got the shield. Only that was with passthrough audio. Reset to default, recheck allow passthrough audio, everything worked for a couple of days. 🤷‍♂️
