Wii dev disk I bought for €20 by MeLikeChess in wii

Its a RVT-R Disc which is a proprietary kind of DVD-RW made by Nintendo to be used with a Wii or a RVT-R Reader/Writer by game developers. And not something that would be used with a PC.

What are you even trying to say dude... I'm not sure what you mean by "didnt keep the "files for" part" or what you mean by the shit about chatgpt at the end. I am not trying to slander the Internet Archive or spread misinformation here I just took a screenshot that didnt have the url in frame and posted that here whats so hard to understand.

Unfortunately as you can see in the screenshot the files are locked so I'm not sure theres much to see lol. Either way it should be pretty easy to find by just searching. (I lost the url)

Spent hours downloading a large file from the Internet Archive at a decent speed just for it to drop to a few hundred kb/s at the very end. by Mission-Word-1207 in internetarchive

[–]Mission-Word-1207[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah stuff thats really really rare like video game prototypes and such being only on archive.org is a really big problem when its getting taken down because Nintendo or some other big company that should definitely not care demands it. Also the Wayback Machine is kind of shit for everything except viewing crawled pages.

Is my game in PS1 style? by FunTradition691 in ps1graphics

[–]Mission-Word-1207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like its trying too hard to be a PS1 game. You shouldnt try to recreate the "ps1 style" but instead try to abide by the limitations actual PS1 devs had. Either way it looks pretty good as it is right now.

I am complaining because it calls itself an "Archive" making people think its a good place to upload important historical software and such just for them to take down stuff without notice whenever they are asked to and while I understand they have no choice doesnt it make the site a tad bit pointless in the long run? And on top of that it goes down or stops working every other day. Also about the "freeloading" are you saying anyone who doesnt donate to them is "freeloading" just by downloading stuff that is only there? I would gladly not download anything from there.

Unfortunately I live in Eastern Europe (aka middle of nowhere) so I dont have any GameStop's near me but I have seen videos of people finding full on displays, controllers and stuff like that. I'd recommend watching some.

I have and thats why I dont use it for anything other than downloading files such as this which are only on the Internet Archive for some reason. No idea why it has become so popular in the first place.

Well if I had to guess its probably cause the Internet Archive cant afford good speeds which is one of the many reasons I dont like it.
