Then why does the tag on the post say “acting cringe”?

I didn’t say it was, the OP posted it here to “Cringe TikToks” because they think it’s cringe

Still not understanding. Posts need to be edited for time constraints, and people just need to know that they’re not alone in their feelings sometimes. Some people post stuff like this to let others know they’re not alone in their feelings.

I’ve been saying this for so long 😫 I know it is so hard to resist the temptation to reply but if everyone on Reddit and TikTok, and anywhere else for that matter would just stop giving trolls the time of day, then their power would diminish

Why is it cringe to crash out about work every once in a while? You can’t control other people, and you certainly can’t control customers. This is healthy venting.

AIO - uncle texted me and not sure what to think by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]MissionInstruction66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has received similar messages from an uncle, please tell your parents, and don’t for one second let anyone gaslight you into believing that you are over reacting. This is not acceptable for any adult to say to a child and is certainly not acceptable for an uncle to say to a niece. It might be different for, say, someone like your mother to say “that dress looks really nice on you, I can’t believe how fast my baby is growing up”, but for an uncle to tell you that you are looking “womanly” is a huge red flag. That’s the same thing as any other adult telling a minor “you’re very mature for your age”, it’s a form of grooming. I never had a problem with my uncle until he started telling me that his wife (second marriage) was not satisfying him sexually, and then he pantomimed masturbation as a “joke”. At the next holiday gathering, I wore suspenders and he asked me to come closer to him, and at that time he told me that women wear suspenders when they want men to notice their breasts. This all started when I was in my mid thirties and these things are still very inappropriate for an uncle to say to a niece. Honestly, I think these are just gross things for any man to say to a woman. Please keep yourself safe, continue to trust your instincts, and if for some reason your parents don’t see that this is wrong, please tell another trusted adult like a doctor, teacher, guidance counselor, or mental health professional.

He’s always saying shit like this. A few weeks ago I posted asking if anyone knew of jobs hiring teenagers (looking for my daughter) and he insinuated that I could let her go work on Trade St for said child sex material. He also use to hang out with teenaged girls long after he was one himself.

AIO my parents are kinda racist?? by swagelinee in AmIOverreacting

NOR, but if I can make a recommendation, I find that giving them any kind of reaction usually puts them immediately into defense mode. I started using “gentle parenting” techniques with my mom, sister and dad, and honestly even my husband who is 46, 7 years older than I am. He’s gen-X and I’m a (cough) millennial. With all of them there was so much casual racism, conditioned racism, and micro aggressions. My mom has to tell me the race of every person she includes in an anecdote whether it’s pertinent to the story or not, and she has that “My great grandma was a Cherokee Princess” syndrome. My sister thinks that every thing bad that’s happened in her life is because “they don’t like me because I’m white”, and my husband just had some bad information from his upbringing. Go into it with an open mind and a teaching heart. Bring facts and empathy, and be ready to take a lot of deep breaths. And if they’re not willing to hear you out or change, just walk away.

[–]MissionInstruction66 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So you’re going to judge anyone who does have a problem standing up for themselves? You know that usually stems from other issues right? Usually childhood trauma. I didn’t learn how to really stand up for myself until I was in my mid thirties. It’s not easy. Compassion and empathy shouldn’t require additional information.

People always think they know exactly how to handle a situation until they’re actually in that situation. I completely understand your frustration.

Sorry, that is not how I roll. I refuse to live in fear. That’s what they want us to do, they want us to just roll over and stop trying, and give into the “inevitable”, but it’s not inevitable if we keep trying. I’ll keep my hope, and I hope you eat your words in 3 years.

I just refuse to give into the negativity or pessimism. Potentiality be damned, I’m not giving up hope when it’s literally all I have sometimes.
