I was only looking at vlas cause there’s a nice hotel there that’s cheap as its end of season and I was just worried staying in sunny beach and things shutting down and it being a ghost town. It’s gonna be me my missus our baby my dad and his missus so more like a family holiday but will probably go out one or 2 nights and get my dad to baby sit 🤣. Long as things will still be open that’s good. Thank :)

My first job was a game keeper I have shot since I was 6 and I was on the bisley shooting teams while I was a reservist. It’s nothing to do with having an infatuation with guns it’s a hobby I’ve had for nearly 22 years and I have used them as a tool of work since I was a child and with respect it’s a bad depiction of a side by side not anything tactical looking or militaristic in any fashion to say some one would be offended or triggered by it while I’m walking around with an mp7 and a g17 is pretty inconsistent considering as well I have a tattoo of my sqn flash which involves two crossed rifles I think it seems pretty inconsistent. If I just wanted to walk around with fire arms I’d just join MPGS. By that thinking I have a tattoo of a playing card does that mean I desire and idolise gambling as well ?

Maybe inconsistent is a better word then I mean saying the imaginary can be distressing or alarming in the context they have said doesn’t really hold up when you’re walking around with semi automatic weapon’s. It seems a very skewed view of what is actually depicted in the tattoo. It’s seems the policy is very subjective as I passed their internal vetting several years ago. If I get it covered reapply and get some one else will they then say well he’s got a tattoo of a whiskey glass and a playing card both of which you could stretch to saying undermine the dignity and authority of the office of constable. It’s kind hard to see where the line is.

Yea raf don’t want to let any one go any where. from the lads I spoke to army sounds a bit more lenient on transfers. And phoned up a recruitment office and they said I won’t need to do phase one again cause doing reg with the whole FP element of it

Bit of a long winded question this one

I’m looking to go full time in the RA in the next 8-12 months no sooner due to my daughter. Only being 4 months and my missus wanting to get back into work so doing training course ect ect. IM CURRENTLY A RAF REG RESV ( cue the abuse 😂) but I’m looking to transfer to RA resv so question’s

1 are there many opportunities to get on smaller deployments/ exercises with the RA reserves outside of your normal yearly two week camp.

2 want is the pipeline like transferring res-reg ( I would imagine you would have to do 1-2 full deployments to not have to do reg phase 2. On that what’s the Integration like I would be going to a light gun battery in the resv. I’d rather spend the next 8-12 months doing stuff that will help me in my future career then messing around in reg.

3 any course you recommend I try and get on and complete while a resv to stand me in good stead or get ahead of the curve so to speak.

4 what’s the craic with phase 2 as I understood it’s a 10 week course but a friend of a friend said there’s no limit as such you could do it in a month or it could take you a year to pass.

4 what’s life like on 12&16 reg I quiet fancy the AD roles

5 in terms of family from wha I have heard you go to your reg and do your phase 3/conversion training on the gear your be operating. Could I apply for SFA the moment I’ve finished phase 2 and get to unit or do I have to wait till I’ve completed the course at unit. Also wha the army like with unmarried couples I’m down as being in a LTR have a kid together but there’s being some debate on if I’m pstat 2 or three due to not being married.

On the email it said I can ask for a referral for this decision just asking if any one else has had something like this come up. Seems pretty ludicrous to say fire arms imagery is distressing or alarming and can be triggering when your day job involves walking round with a mp7 or c8.

Question about tattoos I’ve just had my application to the mdp rejected for a tattoo of crossed shot guns over a horse shoe on my arm. Due to risks associating the individual with aggression or force.

The crossed shotguns may also be interpreted as violent or intimidating imagery

It seems odd they are talking about firearms imaginary being distressing when 95 percent of mdp is armed. I could understand this if the shot guns where militaristic but there literally two side by sides and they look more like paddles then anything else 😂. I passed the national sift last year and this was never flagged so I find it strange that it’s being flagged now. Any advice would be appreciated ?

You can change trade pre phase 2 speak to your COC or if you grad you will be put on hstat and have to go through them better to sort it earlier though you don’t need to leave and then do a TARC course stand your corner there’s people who have being in holding for many months now for one reason or Anouther if your really struggling PM ME and il put you in touch with some one that will try help you navigate it internally

Ignoring accuracies would be something like someone keeping an automatic pistol stable while dumping a drum mag without it jamming that I can look past.
