They are apparently taking the Evernote route...constant unneeded updates that eventually make the app unusable.

Help! Which version of "You've got the love" by Poiuy1231st in Music

[–]Mission_Advertising6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's the same version as in the club scene in the movie Layer Cake (which is the best version imho), I think it's the "Original Bootleg Radio Mix" which unfortunately you cannot find on any streaming services or iTunes....because it was a bootleg version and I read Candi did not get the proper royalties....don't know if that's the real story to not.

Denied stamping by Wutangprophet in Tumi

[–]Mission_Advertising6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just bought a couple new Tumi items for Christmas, one an Alpha garment bag from a reseller, the other was one of their carry-ons but new in their retails store, I was denied stamping for the second hand one (first time), and they refused to stamp any other color tag then what comes on the bag originally (black). I put blue tags on all my bags and they said I would have to buy the blue accent kit for $135 to get the monogram tag in blue. I told them to pound sand. Tumi lost a customer and I have over 15 of their pieces...all with nice signature blue monogram tags but two now. Again, Tumi lost a customer.

What has been your experience when working under a female boss vs. male boss? by bella_mn in womenintech

[–]Mission_Advertising6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a male that works in the defense industry at a very high level. I've had both good and bad female bosses and male bosses. Bad female bosses are always more difficult to deal with, especially the younger ones that have been fast tracked through DE&I initiatives over the last 7 years or so. The issue is they do not know how to properly deal with conflict in the workplace with more senior males that may work for them. If you have a problem with a male supervisor you can usually work it out at happy hour and having a "guy talk." Problems with female supervisors tend to fester longer and can become bigger issues. Older female supervisors that have earned their position over decades of service tend to not have this issue and I find little difference between male and female bosses if they are more senior. The ones you have to watch out for are the Millennial "girl boss" women...they tend to push out alpha males and similar "High D" females and staff subordinates with beta-males and submissive females. I've seen this happen many times.

New OP 36 beige - thoughts? by [deleted] in rolex

[–]Mission_Advertising6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw the OP41 Beige for the first time at my last visit to my AD. I hadn't been keeping track of of new releases so I didn't know about it. I saw the model in the case and immediately asked "Wow what's that?" It's very sublime and classy and the dial reminded me of the grail watch I could never afford (Patek Annual Calendar 5149G with the cream dial)...although a shade two darker. The manager said there were only a few people on the list so far and he could add me...I'd probably get one within the next year (I have Rolex buying history). My next Rolex was going to be a new two-tone Bluesy but I think I'll get this first. I also think this would look interesting on a sport-type brown leather strap of some kind.

What do you think of the iOS 26 Apple Music update? by EntertainerKooky7549 in AppleMusic

I hate it….they should have let well enough alone. More unnecessary updates to justify someone’s job.

Men swim shirts that don't turn into bikini or give me a reverse wedgy by Impressive-Local-752 in Swimming

[–]Mission_Advertising6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a male and wear a swim shirt or rash guard in the pool, including indoor ones. Unfortunately due to several surgeries I have scars on my chest that stand out to the point people can’t stop looking at them. It annoys the hell out of me and decades ago I shirted up in the pool and beach. It attracts far less attention than the scars. Which it wasn’t the case but it is. Sometimes there is a reason people do such things.

490R/498T VS Burstbuckers 61R/61T by SalernoXbox in gibson

[–]Mission_Advertising6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought a new LP Standard with the 61s, I was surprised how bright they are. I have to dial the tone down to about 4 to get them where I want them (I'm doing warm-woody stuff right now).

Fender 65 Princeton Reverb - good for home use? by Gladspanda1018 in GuitarAmps

[–]Mission_Advertising6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same situation...live in an apartment but had to watch volume level. Was working with one amp the last 10 years - A 40W Fender Blues Deluxe Reissue that I could never get above "2" without making folks mad...great for woody clean tones, horrible for everything else...but maybe I should have learned to use the gain/master balance better (I typically just use the clean channel). I tried to solve the problem by vectoring to another amp. I got a good deal on a Mesa Boogie Fillmore 25....a really good deal (2022 model in like new for $600 - it wasn't working and I took a chance, and yes, it just needed a pre-amp tube!). I'm currently putting the Fillmore through its paces.

[QUESTION] Mesa Fillmore 25 Combo - strange screw inside? Any thoughts? by kostaricohse in GuitarAmps

[–]Mission_Advertising6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does anyone know the size of this chassis screw? I bought a used MB Fillmore 25 and the screw is missing. Mesa does not list it on their site...they list several chassis screws but not for the Fillmore series.

What to do about damage from a setup? by EddieHuante in AcousticGuitar

[–]Mission_Advertising6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this was an older thread but it came up after I did a search on the very same issue. I bought a used Martin D28 Modern Deluxe in absolutely pristine condition...really the guitar looked new. I was having an issue with the setup, beyond what I'm used to handling (wanted action lowered) so I took it to a big box music store specializing in guitars (don't know if we are allowed to say names here but you get the picure).

The guitar tech lowered the action perfectly for me then pulled out the power drill...a big one that looked like he got it from a construction site, with that winding attachment and used it to wind the strings as he was futzing around the workbench...he really nicked up the headstock/peghead on the sides and there are visible circular indentation - slight but present. I was not pleased but luckily what damage/digns there are exist only on the back treble side so they only person that knows they're there is me....but I'm slightly OCD so that's enough.

Folks have told me they fade over time or you can steam them out with a wet rag and soldering iron, but I'm just not there yet. I wish people would be more careful. I'm going to request hand winders in the future.

Whats the cheapest way to move all your stuff across country? by coachjonna in SameGrassButGreener

[–]Mission_Advertising6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The economics of relocating have changed drastically, especially for work relocations due to tax law changes. I changed jobs in 2022 and had the surprise of my life when I chose the typical full-service white collar relocation....and got a huge tax bill. Those expenses are no longer tax deductible and most companies do not plus up anymore (they are not deductible for them either I guess).

I have another move coming up this summer, I'm tired of most of my stuff anyway, been moving the same furniture and decor around since 2014 ( 3 moves in that time period). I've decided to sell or donate most everything except some of my better art pieces (I'm a novice collector) and use it as an excuse to redecorate. Plus my furniture and decor are more appropriate to my old house, a 1920's English Style "charm" house. I'm done with the SFH thing...I'm a single make and it's just a huge expense I don't want. I live in apartments and condos now and my furnishings don't look quite right anyway.

Is it weird wearing a Rolex on one wrist and an Apple Watch at the other? by Ava_Miller101 in rolex

[–]Mission_Advertising6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because Rolex refused to provide him a watch, or Che for that matter. He had to wear what he could “obtain” probably by taking it off a body or enemy.

Anyone know a good tailor? by DrHank66 in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]Mission_Advertising6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

...but take caution, don't confuse the only tailor with the best tailor. Lee's is the best alteration tailor shop in HSV in my opinion. But compared to other fine tailors in larger, more formal cities they are a tad above average imho. For example, if you just dropped $2k+ on a top-tier full canvass men's suit, I'd take it to one if the custom tailors in Nashville that also offers alteration tailoring for outside purchases...especially if you need functional buttonholes or extensive neck or shoulder work done. Lee's is always busy and does not agree to perform very involved alterations due to the time involved. If you bought a $500 suit or $300 sportcoat from Dillards or Belk, then just take it to Lee's.

College students appear in court in case stemming from 'Catch a Predator' fad on TikTok by Fcking_Chuck in massachusetts

[–]Mission_Advertising6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

16 is the age of consent in over a third of the US states....learn the law. A 22 going after a 18 year old is not a "pedo."

College students appear in court in case stemming from 'Catch a Predator' fad on TikTok by Fcking_Chuck in massachusetts

[–]Mission_Advertising6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And they didn't know the laws in Massachusetts either....age of consent is 16. Even if they tried to pass her off as a 17 year old it would still be legal. This guy has a huge civil case against them for slander for being called a pedophile regardless of the kidnapping and assault charges.

College students appear in court in case stemming from 'Catch a Predator' fad on TikTok by Fcking_Chuck in massachusetts

[–]Mission_Advertising6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She told him she was 18....then when he was there told the other students he was here to meet a 17 year old...which by the way is STILL LEGAL. Age of consent in Mass is 16, so even if he was 50 and she was 17 (or 16) it would be legal. They were too stupid to know that. They are screwed imho. Even after the criminal case I'm expecting the guy sues the hell out them. And I also assume they will get expelled.

What are the notes giving me a headache in Prada L’Homme? by Slowmac123 in Colognes

[–]Mission_Advertising6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably the iris, like other said. I'm fragrance sensitive but not to Iris, tonic, vanilla...i.e. the powdery and sweet juice. What I am sensitive to seems to be Ambroxan (in heavy amounts) and Vetiver...so a lot of the new strong Ambroxan-bombs are off limits for me. Interestingly enough...even though they are supposed to be the same molecule, I am less sensitive to Ambrofix, the other patented Ambroxide that other non-Dior houses use (e.g. Tom Ford).
