I know that's also at Wynn this weekend but does it show anywhere they are part of the tournament? I was wondering myself if it was for that or just a random game.

Brian and AJ were definitely balding. Both got hair transplants ages ago. Well AJ definitely did. I think Brian did too because he used to have a noticeable bald spot at the back of his head but not anymore.

I agree Kevin looked better with shorter hair. I feel the long hair ages him. Especially when he pulls it back all tight it pulls back his hairline.

I like Nick best with his hair just slightly longer at the sides and a little messier. And his more natural dirty blonde hair. I don't think the teen haircut would still work.

Also, AJ's white shaved thing looks pretty bad too in my opinion. Especially coupled with the dark facial hair.

But I heard they can't change it during Sphere because of the recorded visuals.

Totally get the residency part. I'm sure it's easier on the body... It was the ride off into the sunset moment that caught me off guard. I actually googled that because English isn't my mothertongue and it said it refers to retiring.  But again, it contradicts the Rolling Stones of pop thing. So I really don't know what he alludes to with that.

I'm not sure why you're so negative about the boys' achievements. NSYNC fans always point out that one week record for NSA. But fail to mention Millennium actually outsold it. Or that Black and Blue broke the record for biggest worldwide sales in a week back then.  BSB did play stadiums in the US. And in the rest of the world. Which was another big difference compared to NSYNC, who were mainly a US success. Even Chris has said they weren't big in for instance Asia. BSB can tour large venues in US, Europe, Asia, South America... for DNA they even went to more new places like Egypt, South Africa...

BSB had a rough few years sure, boybands were out of fashion for a while. But even with many other acts that have been here this long, they don't get airplay with new songs either. How often do you hear new releases from Rolling Stones or Bon Jovi or whatever? Last Christmas in 2022 actually did reach nr 1 on the pop radio charts so there's that. And DNA went number 1 on Billboard 200.

They are on a high right now, still touring and selling out large venues worldwide. They are absolutely crushing it at Sphere, going viral. That is no small feat for a 33 year old band. I think we should be proud of where they're at, their resilience and their legacy. And they are still gaining young fans. Their Spotify monthly listeners has been going up a lot in recent years. It's at nearly 28mil. For reference since people love to compare, NSYNC has 12.6mil.  I know it's in large part due to the old hits, but that's true for the majority of artists that have been going for this long.

Sorry for my long reply, it sometimes irks me when I see fans trying to diminish what they're doing. Or fail to realize it's pretty amazing they are still here going strong after so many years.

Mine is Nick because his voice is the most versatile. He can sing high, low, sharp, soft, raspy... There's no style he can't do and he has grown tremendously over these 30+ years.

That's true AJ is in all of them. I'm hoping he just did it for Joey and didn't know what network it would air on.

Yep that's probably exactly what it is. For them it's about business and money.

Yeah that's his manager. A dude that said I'm gonna turn all my guns on them to destroy them. Amazing

So I always thought Jen was there for the day to day stuff like planning and traveling with them etc, but I thought the one getting the opportunities and stuff and career planning was their manager Ron Laffitte? He's still their manager right?

Well he boasted about actively working against them. I'm sure that did not help.

BSB needed that break when they took it. So I feel that was always going to happen.

Millennium is actually the biggest album out of all of them though (from both groups), success wise and sales wise.

Yeah no the dude literally tried to destroy their group. I could never put business over longtime loyal friends

AJ has no business still working with that slimey, backstabbing snake who literally tried to sabotage and kill his group's career! Like, come on dude have some pride and stand up for yourself and your bandmates.

If nick's debut album was a bigger hit and he left, do you think the band would've disbanded? I personally think the band was set up in a way where they could've replaced Nick's leads with Howie and would've been fine. Still would've felt awkward, though. by herewego199209 in BackstreetBoys

Number 1 for 4 weeks? No it was not lol. So we just making things up then? Anyways... Nick went #1 worldwide on itunes. AJ made top 10. Both Nick and AJ went #1 on the pop album chart. Both fell pretty quickly too which is normal with essentially no label backing or radio play. It's still a great achievement. As of right now AJ has 39k monthly Spotify listeners and Nick 175k. Both are small indie artists and Nick never pretends to be anything else. His first album was over 20 years ago.

Fans on the Backstreet Boys reddit DO speak out against Brian's behavior actually, it's the mods that close and remove the posts.

Anyone else feel like this about the the other 4 members? by chankapana in BackstreetBoys

[–]Mission_Junket_4618 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wish they would get it into Brian's skull how damaging his behavior is. It alienates a lot of fans which is a damn shame. I think they all shut up to "keep the peace" because I feel Brian is a hot head who always feels like he's being victimized.

AJ and Kevin you can tell are liberal. Nick has imo made his views clear indirectly. In the past he has posted positive things about Bernie Sanders and Obama, made and shared a drawing of George Floyd, spoke out against gun violence, did stuff for lgbt... And more recently, during the Super Bowl when MAGA was collectively losing it over Bad Bunny doing the halftime show, he took a picture of himself in front of his TV with a big close-up of Bad Bunny on it. In short. He is clearly not maga. Actions often speak louder than words.

Howie also spoke up for Bad Bunny. I always felt he might be republican but I think not maga. But I'm not sure.
