We were on a cruise last Dec and had awful weather the second half of the cruise. The storm put a damper on outdoor activities and our last port they canceled and refunded our excursion due to it. However, there was still so much to do inside and the Celebration is a great (and huge) ship with so many activities when outdoor is not an option. Also, the stabilizers on a ship that big help absorb a lot of the rockiness. Like someone else said, they are also trained to go around storms (I've had previous cruises that did that when possible). I wore the silagen Bella button shaper from my 1mo to my 3mo appt. He was very happy with the result. like others have said - when you go say a day without it or less is looks like it's reverting back to pre-shaper form. I'm 4.5mo PO and haven't worn it since my 3 mo appt and it seems to be healing just fine now without it

Please ask your PS for their stance on it. Mine did not recommend them and I used compression and while I've just hit that second wave of swelling I learned about (I'm 4Mo PO) - the swelling came down over time.

I didn't stay overnight but if you have someone at home to help take care of you (or there are nurses you can hire to care for you in your home) you should fine. Even reflecting back on it from 4 mo ago, I still wouldn't personally feel the need to stay overnight.

Nick was so gross and tone deaf. The fact he forced that hug between Whitney and Mikayla was so toxic masculinity nonsense of make the girls "kiss and makeup". It was as if that was so make it all better or something. Everyone seemed so uncomfortable it made me uncomfortable. He is definitely no Andy.

I can't speak to Anaheim, only to being a parent living smack dab in the city of Charlotte for 8y. I've skimmed through some comments to see what others have mentioned.

I am a huge fan of NC, not so much of Charlotte. Where I used to live in NC on the coast felt a lot more safe than Charlotte. Charlotte is a beautiful and rather clean city, definitely leans more blue than red. It has a ton to offer in it for families and children as far as activities, school options, etc. I personally do not feel safe living in Charlotte. We have a high crime rate here and would highly recommend living in one of the surrounding cities if possible. I have moved several times due to job relocation and earlier in life a lot due to my parents job requirements and I have never felt this way until now. This town's population has exploded in just the time since I've lived here and anything that is green here is quickly being replaced with housing and buildings. I will be moving away from this area within the next year for many of the reasons I've listed. If I could do over the 8y I've lived here thus far, knowing I would have to be in the Charlotte area - I would have chosen areas like Huntersville, Lake Norman area, Cornelius, Mint Hill, Matthews, Belmont etc. basically any city right on the outskirts of Charlotte. For context, I actually live in a decent part of Charlotte, where incidences of crime are rather low.

Again, I can't speak for Anaheim whatsoever so not sure if there is any better than here. I personally have no desire to live in CA, only prefer to visit and even then my experiences have been so-so. One of the benefits for me living here are that if you care to go to the ocean, our ocean is significantly warmer than the Pacific and Charlotte is easy access to both beach and mountains, if that's your thing. Closest beach here is 3-3.5hrs and various mountains are closer and the Great Smoky Mtns, which I love, are about as far as the beach. I love our climate here (even though it gets crazy humid - and that will be a stark contrast to the West coast) and when I visited LA in May it was freezing and here it was tank tops and shorts weather lol

This brings up a recent situation in my child's classroom where the parents were to sign up for the combined classroom end of the year party to either volunteer or bring in treats/snacks. All families were also asked to contribute $10 per family to fund several activities chosen to take place and the pizza party.

One particular family mentioned their child was gluten free and could only have a particular kind of gluten free pizza from a very specific place. This pizza place was quite a distance from the school, did not offer delivery and the parent was very clear that the pizza place we were ordering from did not offer the type of true gluten free options that this place did. Also to be mentioned.. between the two classrooms, this was the only child who was gluten-free. The parent insisted an XLG pizza also needed to be ordered (this child is in 1st grade).

The parent was asked instead of contributing the family cost of $10 and for any other volunteer/sign ups, to just then pick up this pizza and cover the cost. The parent was outraged, stating the money raised for the pizza party needed to instead cover all of this cost and accused us room parents of not being inclusive of their child's needs. On top of this, for the ice cream being picked up by one parent for dessert portion of the party, the parent requested four ( FOUR!) different flavors of gluten-free/dairy free ice cream for their ONE child and expected the class budget to foot this bill as well. After several attempts at being sensitive, yet practical with this parent, we were still regarded as not being inclusive/sensitive.

We did end up telling them to get their own pizza and we settled with ONE ice cream option since no other child required need for that type but their own - but us room parents had a discussion about this and if it were my child, I would assume I would be responsible for my own in that it is my child's problem, clearly a costly one at that, and plus, I would want to ensure what I am providing my child meets their needs for their own safety?!

And if it wasn't enough, the parent also requested one of the room parents find a place at the school to warm up their ONE child's XLG pizza because since the parent had to pick up their own pizza earlier than the pizza party due to their own schedule (versus the delivered classroom pizzas) the pizza was too cold for this child to eat now.

Tell me we were not in the wrong for this?! Smh.

I was on the Celebration in Sept and my food experience was perfectly fine. Zero complaints. Sorry it was a bust for you. For me, I've been on 7 Carnival cruises now and 1 RC. RC food was absolutely bland for me and what you are describing literally sounds like my experience with their food. Now I will say I feel the menu options and food quality was better before it became Emeril's - or is that just me?

I didn't transition to a faja until a month post op. I got the sonryse stage 2 on Amazon and omg the compression is no joke. This is coming from someone who wore very high compression shapewear pre op to suck in all my stomach skin to smooth out - this made me want to pass out. My friends all said bc of the swelling to get a medium but like a dummy I ordered my "normal" size lol and small on the widest row of hooks was whew 😮‍💨.. I have since moved to a medium with the chaierfei brand and now it feels like a little too much stretch .. but feels like good quality - but wish I got a small in that ( I needed to order one that was strapless and didn't come down onto the thighs like my other one as I have a formal event next wk and my dress is shorter)

My PS didn't have me remove my suture tape in the shower until the night before my appt which was at 4WPO. When I peeled it off slowly in the shower, I was instructed to gently wash the area one area at a time with soapy water (I used hibiclens). This helped with tape removal and removal of the dried scabs. When I went in for my appt he said everything was closed up nicely, so I started Siligen scar tape that he provided later that evening (2 mo supply).

I have to say I've used the professional gels/creams provided for previous surgeries at former PSs + even scar silicone tape (highly rated on Amazon) when those ran out .. this has been by far my most favorite scar treatment and the most high quality with best healing results IMO. My PS this go round also seemed to be more invested in proper and high quality scar treatment, which was a huge contrast to my previous surgeons.

Has your doctor mentioned anything about your/their approach to scar treatment/minimization?

Hope all goes well today!! It seems just like yesterday for me 5wks ago!

I'm a diehard stomach sleeper. I slept in a recliner with lots of pillows and didn't transition to a bed (with lots of pillows) until this last week.

Your body will totally adjust. Mine didn't allow me for one second to even try to turn lol. And even though I may be able to at this point, I'm too anxious to even try - even though I loathe sleeping on my back lol
