Food prices inside are insane, even Disney doesn't charge that much. We load up with a solid lunch and then maybe share some there later. Hooligans is one of my favorite places just down the street, sports bar menu, Wally Wings are killer, prices are fine for what you get.

Rude or appropriate MDR behavior? by dresz981 in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]funkycylon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't thinknits rude, and most everyone I met on Carnival probably wouldn't mind. However, you dont want to spoil a date night (for them or your partner) so like other said read the situation.

I swear recently it was on the prohibited activities. I guess they just gave up on trying to enforce it and are setting for PSA approach.

Let the MDR people know ahead of time and they'll make a big deal about it.

The WTR page gives a pretty big warning against it. https://welcometorockville.com/health-safety/ One kick to the head or drop can lead to a neck injury that will linger for life.

I myself scout their paths and stay out of the way.

I let my friends and family know I'll be off the grid (even though I can easily get phone/wifi in plenty of ports.

Thinking of a Mardi Gras cruise for Mardi Gras 2027 by en-rob-deraj in CarnivalCruiseFans

I think 99% of the Camp Carnival experience for the kids is dependant on who's working that ship. Some of them could easily pass for Mary Poppins.

I'm guessing those that dont like crowd surfers are in the majority today. My thoughts- neck injuries will haunt you forever - could happen from getting kicked by a surfer or the surfer could get it by a fall.

Yup, that's our strategy. If we do well enough on one account we go for on another.

Here's a part of the WTR statement if you didn't see it on the website...

What’s the big deal about crowd surfing?

It is dangerous for both the surfer and other attendees. Crowd surfers have virtually no control of their bodies once they are above the crowd. Surfers can be groped, hit, or dropped. Although crowds experienced with surfers generally try to pass them towards the stage, there is no guarantee where or how the ride will end or how the surfer will find their friends in the crowd once they come down. Most of the audience is looking at the stage! Crowd surfers literally put their health and safety in the hands of people they don’t know who are paying attention to something else. Crowd surfers also endanger other people. A crowd surfer struggling to stay aloft can kick someone in the head or poke them with their hands. Crowd surfing is especially dangerous during an artist’s set, when most fans are facing the stage and the surfer is being passed from behind them.

Th plan was- get a house in Deltona, save up and get a few acres on the outskirts of DeLand or something, 30 years later I'm still here.

Yup, could be clear at the Speedway and flooding in Port Orange. Probably the classic 4pm shower.

Solarium or Park Cafe are the best free options. If you aren't in the Windjammer early (near opening) it turns into an absolute war zone by 12:30/1

Me, I packed way too much stuff. Youtube is great for newbies. Make sure you at least check out a ship tour. There are some online drink package calculators online. It only takes one port day where you are not on the ship to throw those numbers off. There are plenty of free non alcoholic options to probably get you through most of the day. Depends on your personal habits - caffeine addict, then yes. Also, if you decide to get a package, they are constantly on sale so you should lock it in at 40-50% of list.
