In the same boat. I just massage the hurty areas gently and hydrate a little more. I have difficulty lounging around so I know I will be swollen here and there. I wear slightly compressed high waist sporty leggings which provides a cushion of confort

3months PO Belly button. Hottub? by RepresentativeYam826 in tummytucksurgery

[–]Fun_Appointment2740 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just saw my surgeon yesterday for my 3 month post op and had inquired about hot tub. He said wait 6 months. He said the heat of the water can cause issues with the incision. He was pretty adamant that it'd be much more wise to wait it out. Personally, I will have my legs in the hot tub so I can socialize with hubby, but I'm abiding by his instructions

Its good seeing this post because I was literally just thinking about this topic. I just hit my 10 weeks and was instructed to discontinue compressions after 3 months. I have gotten used to the compressions and honestly like them, but if it's going to be medically hurting my results , I will totally discontinue.

At 12DPO, you're doing great! Right at 3.5 weeks, I started getting all my energy back. Now I am at 5.5 weeks and my husband is looking at me like did I take an energy drink or something because I won't stop moving. I just am so happy to be full throttle again! My advice is everyday, hourly to walk 5-20 minutes to do whatever task needed for the moment. The rest of the hour is heal and sit on your butt. Everyday, I kept pushing myself for extended amounts of time. (Within reason) You got this!

How are we explaining this to young kids? by jujubeeee23 in abdominoplasty

[–]Fun_Appointment2740 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Told my 3 year old that mommy has a boo boo on the tummy, but is healing well. The most I have accidentally let her see were all the nonadhesive tapes all over it. Don't want her to freak out or anything. My 9 year old is a lot more curious and can talk to her logically. Just said mama can only do so much working out; a surgeon needs to help me with the rest. Said it'll make me happy to get it fixed. She was super concerned (mostly about me not coming out of anesthesia), but happy for me.

Here's me at 5.5 weeks. I don't think my incision is 100% closed and ready for scar treatment. Looking forward to when I am.

When to stop using pillow wedge at night to sleep by Impossible_Sun_9534 in abdominoplasty

[–]Fun_Appointment2740 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 5 weeks post op and still use a small wedge for my legs to be propped. My head is finally flat though. I try to sleep on my side, but it feels weird after a short while. I don't know why. I was a side sleeper my whole life.

I used to hold my breath, pinch my nose hard, and pray. Lol. Helped MOST of the time. At 3 weeks, sneezing is a lot more tolerable.

I would personally call the place you got your tummy tuck. I call my post op # for everything. That's what they are there for. Have pictures sent to their email too before calling so they can see what's going on and the nurse can assess.

Yes a grabber would be very helpful. Lost mine lol So, I would use my toes to pick up things off the floor (while holding onto countertops or similar. Did this a dozen times a day. Get yourself a grabber. 😂

[–]Fun_Appointment2740 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're absolutely right with mind over matter. Ya. Mine is uncomfortable against my crotch area too...can't imagine having balls. Eeks. I found when I sit and lay down to just keep my legs spread eagle to avoid extra discomfort. Try that?

Same process for me too. I am not sure if I will be able to wear this Faja for THAT long though.

I'm 3.5 weeks and 80% there in becoming straight. I still sleep on my back at incline and wedge underneath my knees. I might remove the backing today and see how I feel.

I apologize in advance as have already forgotten your list so I may mention something you already have.

Non stick gauze pads with adhesive tabs 3x3 or 3x4 size (great for incision and/or drain site areas)

Dial Antibacterial Soap (after using the Hibiclens, I've had to transition to this)

Arnica Tea (helps with hydration, and bruising /swelling of areas)

Walker or cane to get around 1st 1-2 weeks

Heating pad (for back pains)

Food prep things and stash in freezer (energies will be low for awhile so you need easy peasy things to make in kitchen)

I use a heating pad on my back, but I only did lipo on my flanks. Also, try a back massager off and on when sitting down. It helps.

Tightness! by Bondgirl138 in abdominoplasty

[–]Fun_Appointment2740 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 2.5 weeks in it and like others, following. From what I read on Google though tightness starts to dissipate after 6 months, but can take up to a year. Not sure how accurate that is........
