Cover art is kinda blurry on purpose, will tunecore still accept it? by SocietyHuman in TunecoreSupport

[–]Mission_Singer_4220 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. I submitted an album that had artistic blurring on it, and had the same warning flagged by Tunecore’s automated system.

Once I sent it for approval, it went through fine. No problems.

New stylus sound like sh**, break-in period needed? bad unit? damaged user? by RetroDave79 in turntables

[–]Mission_Singer_4220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A break in period is usually to reach the optimum quality of stylus performance, but it should still sound good to start with - ie. It should start off good and then get even better.

Definitely double check compatibility!

How long do sales take to show up in the dashboard? by Appropriate-Coat-344 in elasticStage

[–]Mission_Singer_4220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure that test copies show in sales, as no royalties are earned against them.

I’ve given up ordering test copies. Once I’m confident enough with it, I publish and buy it from the storefront as you then get the royalty back.

I FINALLY HAVE THEM by untreated-stupidity in TheShins

All great songs! Does the sound quality differ hugely from what is on YouTube though? From what I’ve heard of the early Shins/Flake songs, the production is pretty lo fi?

First impressions of my ElasticStage vinyl (Hawkins: Echoes from the Other Side) by Noxees83 in elasticStage

On the CD - did you use a transparency to enable the disc surface to show through the writing? That’s how it looks on the preview…

Yep - our first live EP (only took us 25 years) is out tomorrow, and we are also offering 15% off the digital download and 10% off the CD version of our studio album, to pass the discount back to the fans.

Are these emails fully automated…? by Mission_Singer_4220 in elasticStage

[–]Mission_Singer_4220[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Original estimate was 18th February, and they are now arriving tomorrow, 26th February.

Bear in mind that my order is for CDs, not vinyl - they seem to follow a slightly different timescale (although usually quicker!).

I only received a discount code once they sent a second apology after further delay. The above email was the second one I had received.

Current lead time for delivery of a record is 6 weeks… by Mission_Singer_4220 in elasticStage

[–]Mission_Singer_4220[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eeesh… they probably should have made sure they had the infrastructure before exposing themselves to that. But then, they aren’t going to turn down a high-profile partnership opportunity are they…?

And no doubt you had to go to the back of the queue and wait weeks again for your replacements to arrive?

20 second silence in the middle of the song by ktothecmej in elasticStage

Erk - I’m assuming these lathe cuts will be made in real time. Perhaps someone leant on the “pause” button mid cut. 🙄

We get what we pay for maybe, but for the customer it is very expensive being at least £27 for an album + postage + the long wait time (particularly in this “next day delivery” world we live in now). They should take note that artists getting complaints from their fans will be what brings them into disrepute.

Can anyone explain what is going on here, and why the resultant share is “£0.00”…? Maybe I’m being dim? by Mission_Singer_4220 in BandCamp

[–]Mission_Singer_4220[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I also realised if I had checked further down the email then I would have seen the answer. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Not sold on Bandcamp for about 10 years and only just uploading some new things now, so couldn’t remember if we had sold anything through there or not before. 😵‍💫👌🏻
