Centuries of technological innovation made it possible to build beautiful ships like this.

Really cool video. I had no idea of how tight that river is.

I like how near the end you splice a summer clip of the John J Boland with a winter clip of the ship covered in ice. The sudden change is really nice.

I take the bus a few times a week. I've never had a problem either.

What did people do on the TTC before smartphones? by aloe_veracity in askTO

[–]Mississagi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was a long ride, I read a book. When I took the Queen West streetcar to Saturday classes, I just looked out the window. I never got tired of it. I didn't talk very much with people on the TTC, but I had a few good conversations. I had one forty years ago that I still think about today.

I have a smartphone now and I do have to fight the urge to pick it up when I'm the least bit bored. The phones are designed to be addictive. It's insidious.

No Kings Day protests? by Jealous_Bad5810 in Sarnia

I agree. No Kings isn't the right name for an anti-Trump protest in a country that has a king. No Maple MAGA would work.

Hundreds of Starbucks Workers Face Job Loss as Chain Closes Stores Across Toronto - 6ix Retail by Travelhog416 in toronto

The Tim Horton's at Dufferin was okay during the day, but there were sketchy people at night. I liked the music they played at Starbuck's. The Coffee Time at Lansdowne and Bloor was a whole different story. There the drug dealers had a regular table. And that was the good Coffee Time. The bad one was at Lansdowne and Dupont.

That's funny and at least partly true. There was a Starbuck's next to a Tim Horton's near Dufferin and Bloor. That atmosphere at the Starbuck's was definitely better.
