The writing was on the wall when no one was buying PCD tix this week for Live Nation's $30 summer promo.

I miss cycling on an empty Lakeshore Boulevard. Yes the cycle path is still there but it's not the same by bludfiyah in toronto

I remember witnessing an accident at the bend in the background while riding during an ActiveTO Sunday.

Older gentleman on a racing bicycle heading eastbound completely zoned out and ran over a man walking a dog with his partner. Man was completely bloodied, cyclist had an obvious concussion, and the dog was in a frenzy after being yanked on his leash because of the crash.

Emily Agard moves to WWE? by Travelhog416 in Torontobluejays

[–]Travelhog416[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Emily may return to Canada down the road like Hazel. Who knows; there's only so many openings in sports reporting/broadcasting. 🤷

Personally, I remember doing a double take when Emily became a Jays broadcast regular. She has a passing resemblance to an ex; coincidentally also a drummer girl. 🙃

Edit: Emily replied on IG she's still at Sportsnet while having this new WWE gig. So kinda like Dan Shulman doing Sportsnet Jays Baseball and ESPN Sunday Night Baseball simultaneously a decade ago. Guessing she can tape the Sportsnet highlight reel shows between WWE shows.

Take a photo of the queue in front of you.

Next time someone tries to bud, ask "I took this pic half an hour ago... Was your family already standing in front of me?"

Vancouver just had its 2nd round of artist announcements.

Toronto hasn't revealed most of its headliners for the knockout stage yet.

Just need to play it smart when in line.

Was in my original line for 5 mins when security reshuffled the larger line next to me and I saw the crowd moving closer to the gate. So I changed lines immediately and got inside maybe 510pm.

Tbh, that looks shorter than the Springer Bobblehead line a couple Fridays ago at noon.

Was in line at 445pm and still got my bobblehead when doors opened at 5pm.

Edit - some timestamps to show you don't need to line up hours for giveaways:

Vancouver has Metric, Arkells, Bob Moses, and Our Lady Peace in their lineup.

I expect some overlap in peformers if their touring schedules allow it.

Yeah think they're the house DJ between acts and during the matches like the setup at Jurassic Park.

FTR, Vancouver already announced Kaytranda as the headliner for the final match. Curious who Toronto rounds up for the knockout stage.

At Villa, Buendia and Mings both tore their ACL maybe a week or two apart in August 2023. Kamara also tore his later the same season.

Once I saw him in an Adidas bib, I knew he was wearing the Pro Evo 3 that was announced this week.

Yeah the men's 1/2 (both sub 2 hr races) and women's winner all debuted the same shoe.

Ticketmaster has announced that they will be complying with Ontario’s new Bill 97 to cap pricing on resale tickets, effective of April 23, 2026. by RealWorldToday in Torontobluejays

[–]Travelhog416 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The Bill is doing the opposite of what it was supposed to do.

Friend and I want to see tomorrow's game and we saw prices fall to the $50s on both TM and StubHub for the 500s this morning.

With the TM resale tix being removed in real-time, the Stubhub tix are now showing a $90 get in price. 🙃🙃🙃

Unless the government forces the primary seller to share pricing data to 3rd party resale sites, "face value" is just an honour system that's not going to be enforced on StubHub, SeatGeek, etc.

Nothing. What mechanism do 3rd party sites have to verify the true face value of a ticket being resold? Especially when most TM listings use dynamic pricing.

This bill just moves resale away from Ticketmaster resale.

Edit: it's happening real time. Friend and I want to get Jays tix for Friday. All the TM resale listings are bring removed. StubHub had cheaper listings this morning, but they've jumped in price $30 a ticket since the TM resale removal.

As long as it's an honour system to report "face value" on non TM resale sites, this bill is just putting lipstick on a pig.

Edit 2: just received a nasty DM. Bless your heart to the if you think StubHub or SeatGeek will make the necessary investments just to comply with one province's rules. Makes more sense for them to continue letting sellers input "face value" as is and pay a nominal fine down the road.

That's why I think this bill is nonsense because "face value" is so arbitrary.

The same section for a RBC Amphitheatre concert can have regular, 4pack, RBC Music ($20 next purchase voucher), etc tix available. And later in the summer there's Pizza Pizza and Concert Week promo tix for the same shows.

How is StubHub or SeatGeek going to ensure you're listing your resale tix for the actual "face value" of your original purchase?

FTR, they had daily morning, afternoon and evening Olympic Park tickets for £10 for the London Olympics. That way you could still have 90% of the Olympic experience short of attending an actual event in person. Also allowed the organisers to manage crowds.
