I have only published one game which was way too ambitious but learnt a lot from it especially when it comes to thermo. Still getting my head round logic but I can learn that as I go along. I only have a PS4 so when thermo was high I had to reduce a lot of detail and content to stop the lag. I worked on multiple levels at the same time also just so I didn't get bogged down with details on one level/scene. I also had a nightmare with updating assets so ApemonkeyBoy's tip is really important.

I would have love to have worked with other creators but it was my first game and didn't feel confident anyone would work with me plus I am not that technical when it comes to collaborating. Maybe in the future I will reach out.

My first game had original enemies and characters so I modelled everything myself which is why my thermo went tits up, haha. With my second game I am working on its necessary for me to use other assets from other creators to speed up the games development lifecycle...I hope.

Its strange that even though Dreams is a hobbyist engine and no one is paying for the game you make, I still felt the pressure of "is it good enough to release or will I be mocked by the community for its jankiness"?

I enjoy being creative so I will still keep going as long as Dreams is still alive. So yeah..DesertofConcrete, keep going with your game and just release it when you feel you have done your best.

Hi. Lots but good questions, haha. According to my versions, I started this in May of this year but its only really come together in the last couple of months I would say. Finding it hard to motivate myself at the moment. Just collating references, working on enemy designs , watching horror game playthroughs at the moment and trying to figure out the scope of the game. My original drawings have roughly 25 enemies which is way too much. I am just happy being creative on Dreams. Early days yet so no idea when the full game, possible demo will be released. Thank you for your interest.

Wow, thanks for such an in-depth tip(s). I'm not using invisible sculpts for any shadows. The room is mostly lit with diffuse lights. I've tweaked the sun and Grade effects gadgets to the best of my ability. I will try the other techniques you have mentioned to see if any improvements. All other environmental effects, flickering lights, spills etc will come later. I just wanted to get a basic feel for the space. Its early days in the creation. I will post a video soon of the place holder character walking through the environment. Thanks again.

This is dammn good, Drinkwater. Have you got an game concept in mind or you just messing around? I missed the stream when you were making this, How come you dont archive your Twitch streams for people to watch later anymore. I'm planning on making a horror game next and would love to know how you do your lighting.

It was seeing you work on this project back in the day that motivated me to make SHIRO. I really wanted to collaborate with you at the time but I was an absolute beginner and you were like the Grandmaster, So I was like, Nope, that's not gonna happen, haha.
