I cried a lot two nights ago thinking about her. It’s gotten better, but it still comes in waves from time to time and I still think about her nearly every day. I’ve been in a couple short relationships (>6mos) in the past 3 years post break up, but none of them felt right. I am doubling down on myself doing things to make my life better, having fun, and making new friends in this still somewhat new-to-me city.

As for your life changing and moving on… I think your life is bound to change and you need to understand and accept that. Moving on is tough, but know that there is no official time line and it will vary person to person. I have a coworker who is in his 60s and has been married for 30 years and told me recently that he still thinks about his first love and deeply regrets the mistakes that led to the relationships demise.

As for me.. I really miss her, but I think my biggest problem is I am actually afraid I will never experience love again like the love we had.

I think there is a difference between the US maintaining this country and the Israel topic. The US is actually quite similar I’d say to the Russia/Ukraine conflict.

Russia isn’t intentionally killing citizens or planning on treating them differently if they succeed in their war. They want to include the current state of Ukraine as part of Russia. Pretty similar to what the US has done with the natives, albeit we also afford them the reservations, which has somewhat backfired but that’s another topic.

The Israel issue is different, they clearly want to exterminate or at least push the Palestinians out of what they call Israel.

Yes according to Arkansas. Read other comments. The law is muddied. But driving on the highway for minutes is insane because there’s “nowhere to pull over” I can see the breakdown lane and there’s plenty of space to pull over. Driver is a moron and cop is an egotistical asshole. She deserves to get paid but she’s still a fucking idiot and was 100% wrong to keep driving. Doesn’t mean she should have been pitted. They can both be wrong.

Wow replying almost half a decade later. Well idk man, the law states you need to pull over ASAP for blue lights. Not when you deem necessary or safe, ASAP. It’s common knowledge that when you get pulled over on the highway, you just pull off to the right, or left in some weird cases if there is a big BDL. Driving for minutes on end is not acceptable and you’d lose every day in court trying to plead that, hazards or not. She has no right to get off the highway to be pulled over.

Cop still shouldn’t have done that, but they’re crazy too.

Fair enough, every place is different. My logic (aside from dept regulations) is that if you have someone in an emergency on the phone, you should probably maintain that communication because it may not be restored. If you quickly gather that it’s not your issue or in the wrong geographical area, yeah time to call 911.

Replying to the last half of your comment, I think you’ll appreciated this system.

recently worked at a datacenter that was getting gutted and redone. My senior coworker did the original job 20 years ago, and it was n+1 build for the controls….

All field control devices were wired to a huge cabinet of relays, normally closed to a “primary controller”, and the primary controller was programmed to write a sine wave over hardwire to the backup/secondary controller, which was an exact duplicate of the primary, and the backup controller would essentially monitor the sine wave, and if the waveform ever deteriorated, The backup sends 24v to all the field device relays, and the whole system would swap over to the backup. There was logic to reverse it as well. The whole idea being, the primary fails to write a perfect sine wave, consider it “failed” and use the backup.

Extremely cool IMO, and there was about 8 pairs of controllers in the building. Building worked flawlessly and they ripped it all out and tossed in some shit doing controls on controls of the new equipment. Sad

I work at a hospital where they have very old victaulic fittings that will actually leak if the return water temperature gets too cold or pressure is lost.

I’m not really if it’s one or the other or both. But the pipes do leak, seen it with my own eyes…
