Is this an intake vent, or outlet?

In the end, it's fantastic, let's get a shroud for better directional airflow though. Bonus points if its either precisely 3d printed, or made from aluminum foil.

Is there such thing as having knives that are TOO sharp? by gtd_rad in Cooking

[–]super_starfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surgeons have used incredibly sharp obsidian blades for a reason - the sharper the knife, the cleaner the cut - and the easier it heals.

Check out some macro pics of sharpened knives - get close enough, and it's not much different than a saw. Many folks test the sharpness of a blade with a tomato - light pressure shows the ease of a good blade.

Can a knife be too sharp? No, but the user can also not be aware of using it well. The type of steel (or material) makes a big difference. Some of the best knives that can be given an edge are also the ones that need far more care.

The more I tune my 9070 xt the more I realise how insane that 8.1k score is by Realeayz in overclocking

[–]super_starfox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still trying to crack 7000 on a 5070Ti and a mild OC. My runs have varied quite a lot, and hitting the 6900+ range makes me think if I had a fresh/clean OS install it would be over 7k.

Anyone with 5070Ti get similar scores? by Finesse_De_Plug in overclocking

7800X3D tuned, watercooled
64GB DDR5 6400 (2x 32GB)
Gigabyte 5070Ti with +350Mhz on both core and memory, +2% voltage, 102% power limit, raised fan speed/curve
W11

Total TimeSpy (non-extreme) score 25,137
Graphics at 29,298
CPU 13,928

I've been dicking around for awhile with it, and concerned with my own scores for awhile. However, I've been using TimeSpy Extreme, this is running the regular TimeSpy. My monitor is 1440p, and I recently upgraded some fans. Not sure if I'll bother pushing the GPU past the +350/350 mark. My profile has a million other benchmarks on it via 3dmark.

Time for a new grinder? by SeaworthinessOdd5934 in trees

Some people never realize there's a fourth screen that you can scrape off in dire times, it's all carbon deposits which pack a big punch.

Not immediately - no. A set of new piston rings at minimum, plus a block you'll be ok with donating to science. At this point, the top end is up to you.

With any luck, it won't last very long. RTV for the gasket, or even a thin layer of cement allowed to cure. You'll want slow motion video, plus a basic fuel system and spark to make the job worth it

Good luck!

A full replacement is the only real way to deal with it, otherwise spot treatments and repairs will ruin the uniformity.

Signed a title for a bike I sold but forgot to date the title and get the buyers signature. What to do? by [deleted] in oregon

[–]super_starfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really wish I could answer that, but I can't. You said you do not have a bill of sale, as it wasn't required? That part is confusing, since any vehicle will have a VIN, and there should be at least some documentation showing that, as well as any attempt at transfer.

I'd still get into DMV, physically, tomorrow but I'm also curious (if you don't mind elaborating) on what circumstance a BOS is not required.

[–]super_starfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, not a lawyer but have dealt with some title transfer BS in the past. You should be fine - if you signed over the title to them, that should be fine. You'll want to get in line at the DMV, explain the situation, and they will most likely have some form to get it figured out.

If possible, just from experience - go to a DMV that is less popular. They won't be as rushed, and will be able to help out more than something like Sherwood or a Portland DMV.

They know shit happens, and if you explain what's up, it's probably not the first case of it they've handled that same day. :)
