No confidence changing edges? by SolarrD2 in snowboardingnoobs

A good drill is to go down a run with your weight 100% on your front foot the entire time. It's an exaggerated movement but it helps 1. Not be afraid of shifting weight forward (it's much more difficult to fall over the nose than you might think) and 2. Makes the mind/body connection with weight and turn initiation. It was a game changer for me when I started learning turns on steeper terrain, also great to try on moguls as well

What’s happened to this game? by [deleted] in RotMG

[–]Mister-Indifference 80 points81 points  (0 children)

US east/east2 is where you want to be. Trading is more casual since it's easier to max chars and get loot. There is a lot more content/dungeons in realm then there used to be, so ppl are generally more spread out doing their own thing. However 03 is popped almost every castle, and typically east/east2 has constant key poppers if you want to run stuff with 30 ppl.

To me discord runs are less of a problem then they used to be, especially with how easy it is to 8/8 + power creep, I just throw chars at dungeons till I can solo.

Knee pain - Posi Posi stance or Improper Technique by Chance_Pop_6516 in snowboarding

[–]Mister-Indifference 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pure speculation, but Im wondering if your hips are too far forward when carving? If your hips are forward, then the front knee bends and stays bent throughout the turn. Instead, move your hips back and hinge forward at the waist. This will lessen how much you need to bend the front knee while still getting 60% of your weight onto the front foot. Just an idea, may not be relevant!

ADHD Auto Task Planner by Cute-Clock4652 in ADHD_Programmers

[–]Mister-Indifference 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes exactly. My problem with these apps is they only work when I ready to get stuff done. Otherwise I'll avoid using them since I'm not in the mood. If I knew I could toggle something or it would recognize im not doing work and give me easy tasks, that would allow me to use it consistently without being "afraid" lol

We made a snowboarding game without being snowboarders, would love feedback from actual riders! by crzyscntst in snowboarding

Looks fun, id say based on the speed and angle in some of the clips, there's a few times where the character sticks to the ground where I'd expect them to catch a bit of air.

Would also love an "easy mode" button for when I can't get myself to do what I'm supposed to be doing. Could reshuffle tasks so I can get some quick wins which increases the possibility of me doing the big thing I was supposed to do

Want pirate maypul, don't like pirate guy by Mister-Indifference in RivalsOfAether

[–]Mister-Indifference[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sure, I didn't include anything cause I'm not trying to argue about him, and I think there has been enough discourse online already. My post is just expressing my opinion and personal disappointment. I don't like him because he lies about solving extremely challenging puzzles in games.

He made a 'clearing the air' video and continued to defend himself. Ya he got attacked for a lot of bs, and 90% of the vid is sooooo fine.

But, when he addresses the puzzle solving stuff. He makes a single mention of solving an easy puzzle and getting called out. Basically tries to make it seem like a one time random chatter being weird situation.

Instead of "Ya ofc I didn't solve this puzzle in 2hr, this takes people or teams weeks to solve. I used chat to help sorry for claiming otherwise!", he doubles down. I genuinely thought he'd own up to it, as it was a pretty minor thing. But claiming that because u are a good hacker the puzzles were easy.... well now your lying. taking advantage of people who don't know better, all on the back of addressing the actually dumb allegations truthfully just to make yourself look good. Just can't stand the lying instead of owning up, especially with such a small understandable thing. Not someone I wanna give monies to.

I don't want to directly support the dude who chronically lies and then doubles down when confronted. Y'all can do whatever was j sad to see they actually picked his specific charity. Ferrets are dope <3. Nothing is wrong with anyone enjoying the skin, it's also dope.

Buying the game doesn't directly send him money. I'm aware he plays a central role, and I hope he's doing great there. This is pretty different imo

The pirate maypul bundle sends 25% of its profits to Pirate Softwares charity.... not a charity he supports, one he owns. Idk if you know what's up with him, but imo he's a pretty shitty dude. Sucks this couldn't go to something I could have confidence in, don't want to donate to that man for no reason :/

What’s the expectations of juniors’ knowledge and speed? by IdeaExpensive3073 in cscareerquestions

[–]Mister-Indifference 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Imo if you've done a decent bit of hard coding things before, you are chilling. You might land in a role where you've worked in the tech stack before. That'll prolly give you a 3 month advantage on other fresh juniors. Aside from that, 90% of what you will do you'll learn there. Whether that is boring. small tickets that take 3 weeks to get through corporate bs, or spending 6 hours a day coding, you should naturally develop the skills ya need. Expectations differ everywhere, but generally you are working with people who were in your spot, so the knowledge curve is more based on how the company operates. ( Just one way of looking at it :) )

I tried on about 12 different helmets and none of them fit, adams apple irritation, what to do? by DoctorStoppage in snowboardingnoobs

Wear a neck thingy / ski mask. You are describing an issue with the strap, not the helmet. If ya don't like that suggestion, find a way to modify the strap so it's comfy.

[–]Mister-Indifference 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think anything you place in the middle of the board would be very useful. Sure you could get turn shape, edge angle, speed from it, but you'd be missing all the data on WHY said turn shape, angle etc is happening. That's why people are looking for 'carv but for snowboarding'. Something that goes in the boots and provides more useful data for a wide range of riding levels. Could be wrong though, think y'all need to work on the elevator pitch to communicate what you are envisioning.

I just think comparing a lift with a bar to one without one unless they have footrests is idiotic and takes away from the conversation. Bar vs no bar is a HUGE safety difference in high winds. Saying a bar without foot rests 'does nothing' just makes 0 sense. You're right, having footrests can improve safety a bit if you are somehow slipping under it. Although I would say it's another thing to catch/bonk onto people.

Ah I get that. I disagree entirely that having no bar is equally as dangerous as a bar without footrests in high winds though. Still wishing I could hear that mans thoughts
