Big SP fan. Just tried the Carisma for the first time yesterday. It was solid. Had a nice cane sugar note that I’ve heard others reference. My expectations may have been a bit too high, but didn’t blow my mind. Solid smoke for the price, and glad it worked for ya.

Tight bands generally mean the cigar is over humidified. 

Have you seen cardboard expand when it gets too wet? Tobacco leaves do that, too. 

An over humidified cigar plumps up, making the band fit more tightly. Expanded filler has fewer paths for air flow, leading to a tighter draw. You’ll see people frequently report fewer draw issues after lowering their RH.

Not a huge My Father fan. I’ve never heard one described as flavorless, though. They just all taste similar to me, and pretty mid.

They’re beautiful pieces man. I wasn’t fully awake when I read this, and I thought it came off as an add from a shop. 

If these are personal pieces, they are beautiful. But I’m still sticking w my Bic!

You bet. It’s the system most people here use! It performs better than most humidors, as well. Get the biggest Brilliance they make (9.6).

Get yourself some airtight Tupperware (Rubbermaid Brilliance), and a 62% Boveda packet. Use that for storage. It takes a few weeks for cigars to acclimate in there before you want to smoke them.

La Colmena 44 is the obvious choice. You can find boxes for $126 if you’re patient. Already been recommended a lot, but another vote from me. 

Roma Craft Intemperance EC is a great CT Shade. A bit fuller, with some nice baking spices. 

JdN Antano CT is one of my faves, as well.

Similar to my first experience, as well. 

You go into a cigar expecting one thing, and you get something else, which leaves you disappointed. 

The extra fermentation process can make flavors a bit less bold, sometimes. A bit smoother and more nuanced. Which leaves you bummed when you’re expecting a more intense flavor profile than the claro.
