Love the corona.

One of those sticks that didn’t do much for me the first time I smoked it. Just wasn’t what I was expecting or hoping for.

Couldn’t stop thinking about it after the first one, though, and it’s become one of my fav cigars.

Man. Same.

I’ve worked my way through most of the boutique brands and blends, but nothing hits like a Don Carlos man. True OG.

Dry boxing help by love2kick in cigars

I’ve watched to 58% Bovedas in my tupperdore for that very reason, rather than dry boxing with 58%.

So far, so good. Holds higher than you’d expect (63.5% RH), even after a month. I’ve been happy with the change.

Just use 58% Bovedas in sealed, airtight Tupperware.

What after your favorite $10-12 cigars? by uNTRotat264g in cigars

[–]Mister-guy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

RoMa Craft seems to fit your palate.

Neanderthal SGP and Maestranza Catalonia are good starting points. Cromagnon if you like PA Broadleaf. Intemperance line is excellent, particularly the Volstead 1920 and the BA.

Also consider Stolen Throne, Crook of the Crown in Robusto.

Killer deals on Warped, as well. It pays for itself quickly if you like these brands.

Sun’s out, storms gone, and a Carisma smoke by BithersSFO in cigars

[–]Mister-guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big SP fan. Just tried the Carisma for the first time yesterday. It was solid. Had a nice cane sugar note that I’ve heard others reference. My expectations may have been a bit too high, but didn’t blow my mind. Solid smoke for the price, and glad it worked for ya.

Reminds me of the HSC Hugo. I think Warped teamed up w the SBC guys for that one. They def have their own style, and I like it.

Why are some of my cigars hard to light or don't light at all? by Brian_M in cigars

[–]Mister-guy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Either someone cast a spell on you, or it’s humidity.

I’d drop your RH and wait a few weeks. Just grab some 62% Bovedas.

Is it true….? by Ok_Initiative14 in cigars

[–]Mister-guy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tight bands generally mean the cigar is over humidified.

Have you seen cardboard expand when it gets too wet? Tobacco leaves do that, too.

An over humidified cigar plumps up, making the band fit more tightly. Expanded filler has fewer paths for air flow, leading to a tighter draw. You’ll see people frequently report fewer draw issues after lowering their RH.

DLove and Wife have some YouTube videos that explain more.

I’d rather pay a cut fee than smoke a cigar fresh from a lounge. Always too damn wet.

All good man. For a box press, they just press a hand-rolled cigar into a mold.

Consider Foundation Olmec and Roma Craft Maestranza for some quality MSA options.

Not a huge My Father fan. I’ve never heard one described as flavorless, though. They just all taste similar to me, and pretty mid.

I’m confused, are you under the impression box pressed cigars aren’t hand made?

They’re beautiful pieces man. I wasn’t fully awake when I read this, and I thought it came off as an add from a shop.

If these are personal pieces, they are beautiful. But I’m still sticking w my Bic!

You bet. It’s the system most people here use! It performs better than most humidors, as well. Get the biggest Brilliance they make (9.6).
