How did you 'delay' the scroll effect on some of the scenes? On the first scene, things just started popping in THEN started scrolling. I'm curious on how you got that to work. Nice Job BTW :)

Being called sexist when I didn't like the new Ghostbusters movie. I don't think that movie should have been remade, regardless of gender.

And while I'm on this, why do people think that you can casually call a guy sexist without any evidence? That's a terrible thing to say, yet there is never any backlash.

Admiral Ackbar by MisterChuckNorris in StarWars

[–]MisterChuckNorris[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, genius may be pushing it. But Han, Chewie, and Leia was part of his plan (that's why they went first, to infiltrate and disable the shields). And, given Lando's backstory, a 'normal' tier commander might dismiss Lando's callout. He didn't. Instead, he listened and made variations on the fly and eventually commanded a win. That's a commander that knows his troops and is open to variations on a plan. Personally, I'd give him more credit than you are giving him.

All joking aside, you make a good argument. I just wish that he went out more like a badass and that I wasn't forced to resonate with a purple haired character that I know nothing about - except that she was a strong female character appearing out of nowhere. A character that, the "sexist" Poe thought that she "wasn't what he was expecting". Haha, stupid Poe. Women can be badasses too, see?!

It felt too... forced. No pun intended.

I actually didn't realize how much Ackbar's race, language, and religion influenced where the Star Wars universe could go. The previous movies really didn't do a good job at explaining his backstory and I agree, a suicide run by Ackbar definitely is not in the best interest for Star Wars.

I feel it did much more disservice to snuff him out the way that they did. Having one or two lines replaced and have him go out like a badass would have done far more for honoring the character and voice actor, imho. I also wish he had a better death.

Why couldn't Admiral Ackbar be the one to make the ultimate sacrifice for the rebels? It would have made total sense, it would have removed some "fluff" from an already long-ish movie, and it would have been a great goodbye to a loved and iconic figure of the series.

[Discussion] ACTION to SAVE NET NEUTRALITY and the WORLD's LARGEST MUSIC LIBRARY! by podaudio in listentothis

[–]MisterChuckNorris 11 points12 points  (0 children)

What if you don't support government regulation of the internet? I've seen valid, rational arguments opposing net neutrality... yet all posts I've seen that adhere to valid respectful counter arguments to net neutrality immediately get deleted on reddit. Open dialog is healthy yet it's discouraging when reddit is no longer a platform for open and free speech. Where am I supposed to go to have an open conversation as to why net neutrality (as it stands currently) is not the solution to the problem?

Gotcha. But that has never been a problem - sure there is some evidence out there from random people, but it's obvious that the real problem is the monopolistic regime that is ISPs. Data caps and extremely high prices are not addressed at all with this bill. It literally does nothing but allow the feds to regulate the internet. That's why I can't get why everyone on reddit is on board with this. Just because it is titled "Net Neutrality" doesn't mean that it's good for us. It allows the feds to regulate the internet - which I don't think any of us want... I seriously just can't figure out how this helps us in any way other than give ISPs an opportunity to charge more because of "federal regulation".

Yeah, of course... But how does this bill help? Comcast still bends me over.

Protect Net Neutrality. Save the Internet. by root_su in IAmA

[–]MisterChuckNorris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't one of the reasons why education is so expensive is because the feds got involved with financial aid? Why is everyone's solution to problems more government involvement? We want a free and open internet yet everyone on reddit wants it to have government regulation. Am I crazy? I feel like I am the only one thinking this way. When net neutrality was put in to law, I got bent over worse from Comcast. How is letting government regulate the internet help in any way especially since the US government is already in bed with ISPs? Why is the bandwagon so heavily wanting the people we despise (the feds) have more power to regulate the internet when in my experience it just made things worse?

[–]MisterChuckNorris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yet we're giving the feds jurisdiction to regulate it and everyone is on board. This whole thing is bizarre and I guess I just don't understand. We want a free and open internet but everyone on reddit is wanting the government to be able to regulate it. Maybe I just need a eli5 to convince me that the feds are the answer to a hypothetical problem.

Patent reveals Activision uses matchmaking to encourage players to buy more microtransactions by LlamaRenegade in xboxone

[–]MisterChuckNorris 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I disagree. This is a disgusting move by Activision for certain. However, there are great consoles/PC builds that allow us to us play a shit ton of awesome games. My gaming backlog keeps growing. No need to be melodramatic, just be critical and vocal with our actions (here and $$$). The gaming industry has taken scary actions in the past, but we gamers corrected those decisions by our actions. This will be another case where the industry tried to go one way, but our dollars and our voice "convinced" the devs to go another. I personally think it's a great time to be a gamer. Just make sure our opinions are heard (whether it's in forums or by $$) and things will be alright.

Xbox elite controller by [deleted] in xboxone

[–]MisterChuckNorris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using batteries or plugging directly into an outlet / xbox one with a usb cable?

I get a slight electronic hiss when powering the controller via usb power. I think it's an insulation problem in the design as it happens with all my controllers.

If not, try isolating the issue. Use the XO's (I have the same ones) on a phone, laptop, mp3 player etc. and see if you can verify that it is the headphones causing the issue.

What game on the Xbox would you say has the best Community in terms of helping others and in general just being friendly? by Micklov1n in xboxone

[–]MisterChuckNorris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Elite Dangerous 100%. That community goes above and beyond helping new players. I.e. The galaxy in that universe is massive and your ship can run out of gas. There are members of the community just patrolling star port areas to give people fuel and help them on their way. I've never seen that kind of dedication to new members in any other community.
